actually honda kinda was. when the first three wheeler was made they also developed a 4 and 6 wheeler but found three wheels worked best at the time and most off road capable so that's the reason they chose to manufacture the trike. Whether or not they put their quad on the market first i dont know. But we can also thank honda for the big spongy quad wheels they also thought of that first when developing the trike.

An american can am racing team brought a couple of renegade 800's over to compete in an outback race in western australia. They both had problems and one broke the fuel pump, also other mechanical problems with the auto gear box's breaking. if they cant last 6 days in australia and honda's last in excess of 4000 engine hours without any problems, you work it out...
