Thanks! The 14" head plus the the extra low string really make it growl. I am told that Taj Mahal loved instrument when he played it at the NAMM show last month, and now endorses it.
This video is so great.. I keep playing it over and over! IF that is a "Prototype" banjo, when is the production going to happen? (I WANT ONE!) I don't know if its the recorder or what but the bass coming out of that thing sounds amazing! Its like a damn Tuba! And for the record, I think that is the funkiest tune I have ever heard! ;)
Awesome, great stuff! Nothin beats a plunky-sweet clawhammer song! Oh, and are you playing the banjo in a jungle? Seems more exotic than most banjo videos on youtube....
i was waiting for a smile in at least one of these - pleased there is a little one at the end of this! beautiful song, by the way - the delicacy of it is well suited to the full, rich tone.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting. That put a smile on my face!
When I looked at my videos, I realized I hadn't smiled. I found it hard hard to turn on the camera sit down and play. I actually smile a fair amount in life.
I enjoyed your version too!

Thanks so much! It is always a thrill to reach down to grab those low tones, and hear something you didn't know was there.
