The WBC doesn't need their minds changed. They are right when they say GOD HATES FAGS. It's an evil lifestyle choice and God will send to hell anyone who chooses to live it.
The only kind of counter protest that seems even slightly effective against them is to openly and cheerfully mock them at their protests. Still zero hope of actually getting through to them, but at least it undermines their notion that anyone will take their hateful message seriously.
Very good video, but it's a fool's errand to maintain even the slightest bit of hope that the WBC (and others with that same diseased mentality) can be reasoned with. They are convinced that you and everyone who agrees with you are the delusional ones. How do you combat that kind of insanity?
I think this may be one of those "I don't agree with what they say, but I'd die for their right to say it." kind of things. At the same time, though, I'd also have no problem kicking them somewhere unpleasent.
I can not see how they can openly do such acts and still be consedered a religon rather then a cult, and thus have there no-tax thing taken away, would we alow KKK to be open about there hate? No - there are reasionable limits to freedom of speach.
Even though I am a Christian I found your video compelling and your concern legitimate. WBC is an embarrassment to Christians everywhere, they aren't preaching Christ's message of love at all and shouldn't be calling themselves Christians.
Finally, without going too much into religion and so on, I'd like to point out that the major flaw in most fundamentalism is that the bible is a very old work, so believing it word for word involves subscribing to a primitive philosophy. Certainly, anybody who believes the bible word for word admits that if God hated gays then he would have killed them all or not allowed them to exist. It's the concept of free will that WBC doesn't understand.
I would have any point against this, but you included that you probably won't get through to them, which makes me not have anything really to say. The problem with most videos like this is that they assume that an organization like WBC will be changed because of reasoning. But you clearly understand that they don't respond to reasoning. So that's good. If I were to encounter WBC, I would ask them what bible they use, and then ask them about the parts that contradict their beliefs.
They're all good points amigo, and it's nice to see an atheist who isn't like The Amazing Atheist. As for the WBC, I pretty much treat them as trolls and either ignore them or troll back. On a side note, I had no clue you where from Australia
All good arguments, but I doubt there's any point sending it to WBC. If they were susceptible to reason, they would have changed their minds long ago.

Oh, you're just making it sound like homophobic people are horrible monsters. It's like their choice. /Sarcasm/

I know exactly what you mean. In some people, hate is just impossible to cure.
Anyway, I'm glad you liked the video.
