  • Nice, but hard to hear a male voice sing this song.

  • I agree with most of you, but in a way, Sandy took this as her own, and possibly it should have been left at that? After all, we all have recordings and memories.

  • Time is very harsh on the vocals, but i think Simon goes from strength to strength and gets better and better. This is an understated performance and not his best. He sounds a little tired.

  • no one in their right mind would suggest that sandy doesnt perform this song best, unfortunately she is with us no longer, richard does a wonderful job, and this version is a fitting tribute, to a wonderful lady!!!!

  • Thank you lads, don't take the comments to heart, those who listen understand,[i hope] and to those unfeeling commentators, open your mind as well as your ears! I truly wonder what Sandy would have thought of such unfeeling comments? please fell free to post your versions,,,If you perform. show us how you would do it!

  • I don't like it. I love Sandy Denny only... So, please without that man-voice.

  • A wonderful tribute to a beautiful lady, please do not try and criticise as such.

  • I don't say that it's not a nice song, but I think that Sandy Denny better is when she's singing alone.

  • Male chauvanist band! Great arrangement wasted without Sandy. Jayster

  • Very hard to play this arrangement with Sandy as she had been dead for 19 years when they recorded it as a tribute to the lady. Every lineup of Fairport Convention acknowledges their debt to her and her time with the band in its early stages and they use this song to portray their thanks. If you don't like it, you don't have to listen to it but do not denigrate the heartfelt sentiments the band has tried to show.

  • Bring back Sandy Denny. This dear soul is poor substitute.

  • I agree, i prefer the original, but this vid is part of a series of vids from FCs who knows where the time goes album. i'll probably soon upload sandy's

  • Hard to bring Sandy back, particularly as this is a live recording made long after she had passed away. Is Fairport to abandon her wonderful song? This is a beautiful arrangement with lovely violin from Ric Sanders. Very subdued from a usually exuberant fiddler and touching to hear again.
