He did a lot of of things in his life other than taking rec drugs and I don't see why the totality of his (or anyone's) character should be defined merely on their mistakes. Especially in cases where a person's mistakes have primarily harmed that person (i.e. I might take a different line with certain footy players who have treated women abusively).
