@Jgeneraledger23 how could someone comment with such a fuckheaded ignorant comment that expresses such a fuckin low intelligence as to be happy to wear it on his sleeve?
Ahhhh. I remember the old days. Getting to see the Watts towers on the way to old David Starr Jordan High school. Most days we got to actually get to stop and look at the towers as we went past without being chased..
A lot of good soul archives seem to come from Japan. Same for some ABBA. Japanese and Koreans have pop and soul just swimming around on TV orm something.
Now, why be set just to watch stuff that will likely split in the near future when there's probably a DVD set of the PBS recently aired Great Perfomances documentary about STAX available through the PBS site and WATTSTAX may be available as well (Atlantic bought the archives IIRC, Columbia may have the film or maybe Warners now).
mayb i'm 4 real...i'm as real as real can get...cuse what u c is what u get...stop playing yall...dramatics went in on this track!!!!

Whe "Ike" came on, Jesse Jackson sloowly eased a hat off his (Ike's ) head, with the "theme from Shaft" jammin in the background. The crowd went wild

I was 5 years old at the time and living in Compton. I moved to Watts several years later. It still looks the same.

Looking for an incredible remix of this treasure, anyone know about it? Heard it on v103 in chicago.

One of THE best songs ever recorded. Heard an incredible remix on v103 in chicago. Have been trying to find it all over. Lots of horns, incredible.
