and just like the tree, the sword is also metaphorical. jesus used lots of parables and this is one he uses quite alot. the sword is the truth and when we are in him we are armed with the truth, meaning when we are actually close to christ (not as many people actually are as they say they are out there) then we have a better sense of what he would say and how he would react to the hurt and pain in this world

With that method I can make the bible say anything I want it to. For example, the Westboro Baptist Church has biblical justification for everything they do. We are to pray for healing, but this is not the entirety of prayer. God desires relationship, not religion with us, and prayer is simply talking to Him.
