I just saw part of this story on Discovery Channel. After getting the trooper, Buddy ran off to GET FIREFIGHTERS!!! The firefighters were just as stunned that Buddy appeared out of nowhere and got them and even more that the trooper had pretty much the same story.

What this video fails to mention that is very important is that after he led the police to the house he went back to the same intersection and repeated his actions to lead the fire department to the house.

I have a new 14 week GSD and she's the best! So intelligent and protective of me already. When I take her to the park she places herself between me and approaching strangers and is always on the alert. So eager to please too. I owned a boxer and also a Boston terrier that took so much longer to train. It almost seems like my GSD was born trained...;)

Anyone who thinks this dog was just trying to get away from cop...Is just an insult to this amazing dog....When the cop first sees the dog they were both approaching intersection from opposite directions..You can clearly see dog barking urging him to turn..And when he seen cop and him were on same page.. Buddy took off really fast and kept looking back...And you can clearly see dog stop in the driveway..If he thought he was being chased hes not gonna stop both dog and cop true heros!!!

Besides, some landlords don't allow you to have firearms or weapons in your home. (Like mine) I'm not saying chihuahuas are bad breed. I just prefer German Shepherds.

my German Shepherd saved my rabbit. :) Peaches got out of her hutch outside, and a hawk was swooping down trying to kill her, then My trusty Shepherd busted through our screen door when he heard my bunny screaming and he charged the hawk and stood over my bunny barking at the hawk and leaping up trying to attack it. The hawk gave up once its foot grazed through Zeus's jaws.

This is such a great story! It's incredible this dog just knew how dire the situation was and who to go look for. But then again German Shepherds are beautiful, intelligent, amazing, loyal, brave dogs after all.

I you think this is amazing , get the video "War Dogs" which shows how these dogs saved thousands of lives in Vietnam...You will cry watching this. My family had a female when I was growing up, and whenever the neighbor boy would wonder off for too long in the woods we would tell her to go find Louie and she would invariably find him and he would come home.... I couldn't imagine of having a house without a german shepherd.

No one breed's TRUE german shepards these days, there all bred to "look" and fit the "trend" of these days. I really don't want to let a dog that will suffer from genetic issues like hip dysplasia under my ownership...
