I learned a lot from this lady Eva Joly about how cunning & deceitful greedy people can be. She should write a book about how to detect when being scammed by people like IceSave, Magma energy, etc. She would be the rich one. lol
@woodglue6 It's Aspergers syndrome. Mild when people are relaxed but very acute when nervous, stressed or social anxious. It could be all. I have it too. It usually happens in places with a lot of people where my neck twitches like Bjork did on the Jimmy Vaughn video interview.
@RecycledTrashHole I have it too, and I can see it. I think it is what gives her her unique view of the world and her astounding creativity. I used to say this a lot but I don't know how Bjork herself feels about it, so I don't anymore. Its really not a big deal for her I guess, but I do wonder how she handles her fame when dealing with AS.
"logicaust" obviously knows more about this than i do. Nonetheless, no movement or (name it) is "inherently bad." But, re: the claim that 'many academics advocate a hybrid model, where the government retains full ownership but allows private industry to take care of operations,' i sense you should watch out for this. Sounds good. More possible in Europe than the U.S., but it still opens the gateways.
Anyhow, i don't know if i made sense since i really don't understand the issue. peace!
0:40-0:50 : That's what I call a triple-check! Björk got yo back, Ms. Joly :D
In all seriousness, the HS Orka situation in Iceland is untenable. It illustrates how vulnerable smaller countries are to scavenging corporations like Magma Energy. However, without action in the Icelantic parliament, without legislative reform to the conditions of foreign investment, Iceland will continue to see its country signed away before its startled eyes.
Natural resources are finite; literally beyond price (though it hasn't stopped people from trying so far). To elaborate, the recent "Living Planet" report (WWF) concluded that by 2030, we will require a 2nd Earth to sustain life at its current rate of consumption. And don't say "But HD113766!” -_- I agree with the point made on the info page linked in the description: the *people* retain permanent sovereignty over natural resources.
Governments come and go; they are conduits, after all. What happens when bad decisions are made within an administration? History judges them, but that is little comfort for the people who must then live with the aftermath. This is not to say that privatization is bad, bad, bad. No; do not misunderstand. In fact, many academics advocate a hybrid model, where the government retains full ownership but allows private industry to take care of operations.
I remain unconvinced that the hybrid model can ever be successful, in the face of precedence. Look at Telecom/Telstra in Australia and the Western U.S. Energy Crisis of 2000-01. Perhaps an even more relevant example is the continuing saga that is Gazprom (a vision of things to come for Iceland?). The Alþingi must fight, and it must be now. Listen to your people. Too often, there are great challenges that are passed up and/or blundered. Be brave: it’s a great feeling.
Don't be bullied. Name the price you want. If it's too high they can go elsewhere. Our planet is finite and people and their governments need to think where will we be in 100 years, 1000 years, 10.000 years. Not on some convenient payment over the next 5 or 10 years. Name your disclosure needs. Set the priority. The mission of that company MUST be to generate energy and value for Iceland, not serve the shareholders.
But lets just forget about that, I throughly agree with what Eva Joly says here.
It takes a certain amount of intellect to sum up in short words what has been going on in Iceland. But they are already in the hands of the loan system today, so will they resist or be swallowed? Thank you Björk for being a voice against the global oppression this system represents!
@marcusbergrj1 haha! you are the same person from twitter, I like Bjórk but I think She is Crazy, I don't know why she is moving her mouth like that but is really strange, maybe she was thirsty...
Ok this is just a wild guess, but maybe she in a bet with somebody like in Lars Triers movie Idioterne (The Idiots) ? Acting really weird in front of everyone in order to prove that you aren't scared of what they think of you?

In closing, 3 lines from a certain someone:
- It's tricky when you feel someone has done something on your behalf,
- Can you spot a pattern?
- Where is the line with you?
Peace.
