Remember this being shown quite a bit on Anglia / Yorkshire TV between programmes in the late 60s / early 70's. I think it was one of those things that were shown when there were not enough adverts to fill a complete commercial break.
Astonishing, seeing it now, how wonderfully stylish (and stylised) it is. Was the animation done by Halas and Batchelor, by any chance?
The animation here, even at it's simplest, evokes a colourful, stylised atmosphere that is heightened by good old quintessential Englishness played out to some truly funky jazz beats! Thanks for posting this, some lost treasures to be found from many PIF! We all have our most favourite memorable ones! There should be a channel dedicated to showing PIF from around the world!
I'm glad someone else remembers it. I must have only been 4 or 5 at the time it was shown and over the years I had almost convinced myself that I had invented the memory myself. Hope fully it will turn up on the net somewhere soon.
DOES ANYONE KNOW THE TUNE AT 1.14 I LOVE IT AND WOULD REALLY LIKE TO FIND A COPY OF IT - CAN ANYONE HELP????

yes but setting fire to the countryside CAN actually be a good laugh, something this film seems to have conveniently ignored!

Brings back memories. Think there was another one very similar in which an animated campervan goes through countryside dropping litter.
