I've tried this and it doesn't seem to work. Which tool should I been in before holding down the 'm' and clicking? I've used the selection tool, text tool, chord tool, etc...

some one please help, i have been looking for hours on the net and i cant find anything... heres what im having trouble with. for example, a guitar is doing a basic melody like B E B E B E over and over again in eigth notes. but i also want it to pluck the lower e string at the same time as the eight notes, but instead of being an eight note, i want it to be a a half note.... when i try to click a half note in a measure full of eight notes it wont let me.... please help.

@tyinykiller5 At the bottom of your score click on the layer drop box and change it to layer 2, add your half note, (use L key to flip the stem) and after clicking off the measure click back on and hit the O key to make the rest invisible. I'm sure you figured this out by now, but just in case..

I want to add forte or a cadance mark to to all the b notes in a piece, but the piece is very long. Can I add expression to the same notes in a piece at once?
