Hey can somebody help me? I got the SF4 TE madcatz fightsick, but i also have a retrocompatible "fat" ps3, and play some games for the PS2 on it, like Guilty Gear, and Capcom vs SNK 2, KOF, etc, and i dont know why but the madcatz arcade stick doesnt work when i want to play this PS2 games on my PS3, is there anything i could do to change it ot somebody know which arcade stick should i get? to play ps2 games on a retrocompatible ps3 D: SORRY BAD ENGLISH.

@avengerofthenight PS3 version will work on any PC without drivers as long as you have an intel or via usb chipset. My friend bought his TE today and we had troubles getting it to work because his PC has NVIDIA usb chipset onboard but we managed to get a cheap VIA usb ( VT6212L ) card for $25 and the joystick is now working great in MAME.

to be honest this stick really sucks, it breaks so easily and you can't repair it yourself since the screw in the back is special, and you can't buy the screw driver anywhere unless you go online. The stick respond is okay i give it that but overall not worth your money.

The stick I use is HARD AS HELL to find but its one of the best which is the Virtua Stick High Grade. Its got the traditional 6 button layout and all Sanwa parts. The only problem is there is some input lag with Tekken DR but it works fine with T6 and SF4.

WARNING:

Anyone interested in getting the PS3 version of this stick for use with the PC emulator fighting games, get the Xbox version INSTEAD. The PS3 version is not fully compatible with newer motherboards that use a Nvidia chipset for USB. I bought the PS3 version and I had to get a PCI USB card that uses a VIA chipset for it to work.

However this is very solid stick, buttons are very responsive with the slightest touch to. It's bulky but it feels sturdy and you can place it on your laps :)

If your a 100% on the pad, you can still be better with a stick. it would take you about two weeks to get use to the stick, (maybe less). its just up to you if you want to switch.

have you used an X-Arcade joystick before? how does it compare? I played around with a SF 4 joystick like that one and I found the joystick to be a little too loose and I'm not a fan of the convex buttons. I'm looking for something a little stiffer with a teardrop shaped joystick and concave buttons, which is exactly what the X-Arcade is, only I keep hearing its not any good.

Trust me, this stick is miles better then that X-Arcade garbage. You can easily swap the ball for a bat top if you want, but for the buttons stick with convex - for high level play, which involves piano inputs, convex is the way to go. The stick uses authentic Sanwa arcade parts - the most responsive buttons and joystick you'll ever use. This is what the pros would go for.
