This movie has a lot of truth to how we Hispanics/Latinos living in the U.S are/or become ashamed of our roots once we come into or have money. Some of my co-workers (Hispanics) are a perfect example of being ashamed and throw the "No hablo Español" around from time to time yet, they're on their phones with their parents going Spanish non-stop!! The only similarity between this and Material Girls is the two sisters going from rich to poor after their father dies. I know that seems like the whole movie but there's a bigger picture. Hilary and Haley's characters help save their father's company while in this movie, the characters learn where they come from and what it really means to be a family. This movie has a deeper and more meaningful message so I can't wait to see it! -3
