I'm trying to learn how to play this song on trumpet right now, but I'm having trouble hitting the high notes. I can't reach anything higher than high D without making a squawking noise.
well I see this vid was uploaded in 2006. If you're still playing then ya might wanna give this song another go. You're sound should be cleaned up a bit by now just through experience. This song would sound really good on trumpet if pulled of correctly, so I encourage you to give it another go.
The trumpet IS a good instrument for this song. It just this seems to be played by someone not very experienced. Mabe some vibrato, better tone and emotion. It was a good try however. The trumpet is a frustrating intrument sometimes... only professionals are descent sounding.
oh I disagree. It can be a great instrument for it. It's just gotta be played with a clean sound. And it ain't that he needs another instrument, just gotta practice till it sounds good. Ain't gonna happen overnight, lol.
Actually...no. We CAN play piano but it gets so low that we can't go any further really xD Then it starts to sounds really evil and dark. Not pretty and light... this song is pretty & sad so...higher version is needed. We CAN play other instruments' music. but it just sounds different. Been in band for 3 years now ^-^ Going to Disney with my school soon so... I'd do this for a solo in contest if I could
Please don't cram the mouthpiece in your mouth I am certain thats why its so flat just ease up and relax let it flow don't press it so tightly either! just keep practicing. if you want more advice just reply to this and ill be making my own version of this really soon on trumpet watch it and I hope you can learn! But whatever you do don't give up!
Great accomplishmeant on playing this song on trumpet but, kinda ruins the song and anime. Also, doesnt help if you dont play it well. Keep practicing.

But, really, you might need another instrument or try to improve what you got. The trumpet isn't exactly the best at sad, opera-like songs.
