  • I loved it when these 2 teams played.

  • I've never seen two players lying on the ice on their side and throwing punches. Remarkable.

  • EDGe Peplinski for landing few key-punches in this dull wrestlingmatch.

Semenko fired away two reply-punches(middle and the end) but got narrowly outlanded and Peplinski landed better.

  • amazing. i watch this now and my hatred for the dirtbag oilers starts to boil like it did then.

  • This was one of the most fun rivalries in the league. Edmonton and Calgary were in my opinion, the best teams in the league for exciting hockey, and good old time scraps. You could expect this stuff every game. I haven't felt the excitement as a fan since those days. Didn't matter who you were cheering for, you had to respect both teams. I am an Oilers fan, but when Calgary made it to the finals, hoped to see them win. Calgary winning the cup once was just more fuel to the fire in Alberta.

  • mcclelland got filled by hunter.........money ruined rivalries ike this

  • indeed! this was the best hockey! unbelievable

  • @cflisthebest got that right it looks like they care.

  • Crazy!

  • does anyone have all 5 games from 1984 battle between edmonton and calgary?

  • Flames/Oilers from the 80's till about 1993-94 was the best Hockey ever

  • It`s not the same since the playoff `s went to conference instead of division pairings.

  • Mid/late 80s era Flames-Oilers rivalry was one of the best. Both teams were tough and skilled up and down the lineup

  • the smythe division used to kick ass!!! it needs to be restored as it was in 1991-92!!!

    SPREAD THE WORD!!!!

  • Swede Knox = biggest a-hole ever

  • curious what bone you have to pick with Swede Knox...I think he and D'amico were two of the best linesmen in the game...anyway thats the great thing about hockey every fan has a different take on things...take for example Ron Finn..who was ritually booed at Flames games after a call against vs the Kings that cost the Flames a game...cant remember exactly...think he waved off a goal that was clearly in...when he was no where near the net...I was at the next game he worked in Calgary...very funny.

  • funny to see them sliding on the ice still trading blows

  • how many cups i lost count

  • A "Ring-a-ding-dong DANDY"

  • Ahh the great voice of Ed Whelan...JD on the color...Great days of watching the games at the white spot lounge...drinking OV out of stubbies and playing packman in between periods...Flames on 2&7.....would love to see more posts from that era...loved to days when they played in the Corral.

  • WellSpokenNegro: you talking to yourself again? calling yourself gay? and all you can call me is a canuck? how about youre a fucking monkey ass nigger whos only asking for a beating - Kevin McClelland style. i beat your ass any day bitch. just let me when you want to meet, im gonna make chocolate timbits with your ass you fucking puke!

  • as if........calgary was FULL of dirty fighters with nothing but cheap shots.......plus they were all ugly!!!

  • Kevin McClelland wasn't the toughest guy in the league but he proved tough against Tim Hunter in this fight.

  • Hunter won the fight, what were you watching?

  • Flames were the Oilers' dog puppy from 1981-1985, then the Flames burst the Oil bubble in 1986, but the biggest Oiler victory was 1988 over the Flames, swept them with Gretzky getting that huge OT goal in game 2.

  • That Grezky goal was the most beautiful shot I have ever seen. It was more than just a OT goal. It was a signal that the Oilers were not going to let the Flames hang around and pull a miracle out of their asses again. SI had a shot of Gretzky streaking across the flaming-C at the Saddledome that series. I was never a huge Gretzky fan but I cut it out and put in my hockey bag for luck. That 88 series was amazing. Loob, Bullard, Niendyke, MacInnis and Suter never had a chance.

  • cowtown still sucks, fukin fags

  • That was one of the best playoff series ever..ok, the best.

  • Why don't you call me when you learn to count to five??

  • Nice vid, love the Flames! Hunter and McLelland wailing away while rolling on the ice made that whole clip worthwhile... Wow! =D

  • The Oilers-Flames rivalry between 1984-1990 was the best rivalry in hockey history!!!

  • Once the Oilers got Dave Brown, Tim Hunter wouldn't leave the bench.

  • Are you delusional Brown & Hunter fought several times.

  • Fighting on the ice Hunter & McClelland. Sounds like the Toronto based book company lol. no joke though, those two could fight! :-)

  • that is why we won more cups than you ever will....suck dick calgary

  • Oilers fucking suck faggot

  • hahaha that Oiler player got owned by that linesman!

    Go Flames Go!

  • yeah those flames are pretty gay

  • that is why we are leaps and bounds ahead of you in the standings :) have fun golfing.

  • holy shit. Those Oilers were such a bunch of cheapshotting dirty-assed motherfucking whores... total cowardice.
