  • Hey Nascar, STRENGHTEN THE ROOFS!!!!

  • This is all because of the horrible design with that wing. Since there is a gap at the bottom, when the car is going backwards, it creates lift rather than downforce and flips the car. Way to go on that one, NASCAR R&D.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong though

  • This flip and Edwards's flip... What a race! :0

  • This wreck was scary and in fact, the entire race was just awful. It looks like Harvick is waiting for the emergency crew to arrive before he drives off. I wonder if he was trying to see if Newman was moving and OK...and then an hour or so later, Mark Martin tumbles down the track...the Talladega 500 in 2009 was not one of my favorites.

  • @disasterdoyenne it was one of the best..your wrong

  • @phxracing42 its like Newman said if your here to see that you shouldn't be here i know you like the old days and the danger of racing but still Newman is a cool guy and he almost died i watched it live and i said oh my god i hope hes ok really thought he was seriously hurt

  • @disasterdoyenne i know ryan could of died

  • Must be pretty scary for Harvick at 1:13: That wing crushes Harvick's windshield!

  • Harvick saved Newman's life right there

  • It hit harvicks window

  • Bad from ESPN, they must show #29 onboard!

  • 2:41 looks like Harvick was waiting to be plowed by cars.

  • What is S VIASAT MOTOR?

  • every time newman flips he lands on his roof

  • Looked liked Harvick was going to get out and help him if the crew where any slower. Although a bunch of people don't like him I think he is cool.

  • It Seems Like Ryan Newman has the worst luck when it comes to crashing!

  • Newman has actualy flipped quite a few times in -NASCAR.

    -2003 Daytona 500

-Almost flipped in the 2003 aarons 499

    -2003 Watkins Glen practice

-2009 Amp Evergy 500 (this race)

  • why couldn't Ryan Newman get out of his car?

  • The rollcage was bent down pinning his body to where he couldn't really move. Plus, Ryan being a husky fellow complicates it as well... :)

  • @RichieWilliams97 I think hes buff I don't know but yeah.

  • Newman if pretty friggin lucky he landed on Harvicks hood. His roll cage was already pushed down on his helmet as it was. coulda been crushed if it wasnt for that little bit of cushion

  • yes it wouldve been really serious if he wouldve continued to flip because he wouldve ended up on his roof and it wouldve been very serious (look on video at 1:14 to see what i mean)

  • @nascarfan622 I'm going to sound morbid, but at first I thought the wing crushed the windshield of Harvick's car and damn near killed him!

  • @nascarfan622

if you look closely most of the damage from the roll cage was when he was flipping in the grass at the end not when he did the 180 flip

  • what realy sucks is the fans cant sue them

  • Just shows how powerful spoilers are..

  • Why not just shut daytona to, i mean theirs bumps out of turn 4 that maybe dangerous. Thats part of racing, i guess people forgot.

I do agree tho the restrictor plates and the no bump draft on turns is really failing big time.

  • Dude, you must be an Asshole x9000, shut down Talladega my ass, Talladega has the best racing there is, OK I agree, the no bump-drafting through the corners is FAIL on Nascar's part, but this car is so much safer that the chances of somebody dying are very, very unlikely.

  • The last time a driver died at Talladega in a NASCAR race was in 1975 (although there was a fatality in an ARCA race in 1991).

  • but its not the drivers safety that nascar is worried about right now its the fans safety

  • Glad ryan newman was okay as awake and alert.

Fall race of Talladega was really boredom, ryan newman interview was the bomb as his agreement.

  • wow... the wreck happend because the 14 slowed down to avoid " bump drafting in the corner" .. idiotic rule.. and the 39 cant slow because the 47 was pushing him,,this race was the worse one hands down.

  • I agree.

  • they should run small block engines

  • They DO run small block V-8's, 358 c.i. maximum. They haven't ran big blocks since around 1974.

  • Newman has no one to blame other than Nascar. If they hadnt implemented that idiotic rule about not bump drafting in the corners. this probably wouldnt have happened.

  • I totally agree. All these damn rule changes will get somebody killed one day. And this race was just a total snore until this point.

And congratulations to JJ on the championship. :P

  • Don't congratulate him yet. He could blow an engine next week at Texas, after all...

  • nah its over. nascar has made it quite clear who they WANT to win the championship

  • lmao that was a good prediction glad to see that its a race for the chase and not a battle over who gets second :D

  • This happened on the straightaway, so you can't blame that. I don't know what they could do though to fix the situation before the 2010 Daytona 500...I don't think anything can be done other than to cut the banking to 12 degrees and making Talladega a boring flat track...

  • DRZREALEST is right. plus he wouldnt have had to slow down like that if bump drafting had been alowed cause he would have already been on his bumper.

  • newman had a bad wreck
