why the repeated 3-whistles? Shouldn't one 3-whistle command be enough? IMHO, if you need repeated 3-whistle commands, the dog has learned, she can quasi-ignore them if she needs/wants to. We have a brown flattie, 20 m old. Her recall is 2-whistle. Given once. We do dummy work and dog dancing. Especially with dog dancing, you do not have the time with the musical constraints of the choreo to issue repeated commands. One command only.
If your dog is not coming straight to you then you need to get her going straight. It is then necessary to give the "here" again. Maybe with a nick along with it.
Coming straight back to you will help your dog take a straight line on the way out. That's needed to make sure she does not lose her marking reference points.
how did you train the dog that the single whistle means stop and look at me?
