  • Mom took us there on the bus from upper manhattan every summer. Candy apples, the hot wax figures and the animated jazz band on the riverboat funhouse that always scared the heck out of me. I miss that place.

  • Shirts and ties at an amusement park!

  • I don't get the whole wearing suits to casual events thing. People wore them on airplanes. How uncomfortable was that?

  • This is an excellent post, thank you......

  • Funny to see kids in suits goimg to an amusement park!

  • Where's Freddy Cannon?

  • Thought I was gonna see Palisades Park. All I saw was Palisades Parking lot. It was a cool vintage film, though.

  • I loved Palisades park! I lived in Brooklyn and traveling to Jersey to visit this park was a delight. I remember the GIANT WAVE POOL, the side show, and the vending machine that dispensed wax figures.

  • purchased red candy apples every friday night during the summer for my mother. the gate attendants did not charge me a fee after a while. just purchased the candy apples. those days are gone forever. Its rap and baggy clothes and body art today! someday body art will be history also!

  • I love it. I was probably right behind you in line with Immaculate Heart of Mary School from North Bergen, NJ. Thank God for memories........because those wonderful times are gone now.

  • Jackets, dress shirts and ladies dressed like ladies! Imagine.

  • Looks like very early 60's

  • I agree. Definitely early '60s. My older brother used to wear ties like the guys in this film back then as well as comb his hair that way. Nice film.
