@SqueakyIri : She sounds like a lyric soprano to me...I'm a Dramatic Coloratura soprano (I've studied for over 10 years), so my voice is darker and richer ('heavier') than Ms. Bonney...Though I really wish I had her facility with runs^.^

I would think she's a light lyric. Fuller than lyric coloratura, but not a lyric or full lyric. But who cares? Such a great singer, such a great Mozart singer :-)

When I was only 11 years old, a wonderful lady who was the choir director at my church introduced me to this piece. She was a fantastic coloratura soprano, a dear friend and mentor, a second mom, and the one person who decided my career choice to pursue a music degree. I heard her sing this and many other compostions over the years, with exquisite tone quality, musicianship, ability and all else. I only wish I knew where she is now, last time I saw her was in 1973 . . .

I love to listen to Kiri and Barbara. They always sing much the same repetoire. In one, I will think Barbara is the best, in another, Kiri. In this, they are first equal. I always think Barbara's voice is so pure, and that Kiri has a unique floating quality. It would be great it these two qualities could be combined in a singer. That singer would be the greatest ever.
