i just found out that voyager would of not known that the enterprise D was destroyed until 2378 when they came home. they got lost before star trek generations chronologically.
You are right! Caretaker, the pilot was on stardate 48315.6 (April 26, 2371), & Generations was on stardate 48650.1 (August 26, 2371). But I think it would have been prudent for 7 of 9 to reveal the events of First Contact to Captain Janeway, including thet the Enterprise was the E, not the D. 7 was very prudent.
