  • CRAZY MAN! What is UP with the F# G string???!!!!! Only Bruce, The Greatest Musician Ever, could do this. FUCK playing an open C chord. This answers many of my "What the HELL - - or HOW the hell is he playing that?". Thanks, Rikkerink.

  • @tennisgurl206 watch out for deer

  • I love this song... it creates an atmosphere by it's resonance...

it doesn't take much effort but it goes against the grain....

  • I was in a Band called Night Train before this song came out. What's interesting about that is Bruce was my favorite musician all my life and I learned to play about half of his repetoire in my twenties. I don't play so much anymore but I still love to hear him evoke all those mysterious and mystical sounds. One of the Guitar Gods for sure.

  • His voice and his guitar are one...

  • He really seems to be enjoying playing this one. It's an oddly happy song considering the subject matter.

  • Love that Manzer!

  • Just saw Bruce play this at Massey Hall... One of the best concerts of my life...

  • Brilliant!!

  • ya i know thats Bru

  • See him with a full band if you can!!! amazing!! kickz azz!!!!!!

  • Looks like he is having alot of fun. would be nice to play this around the camp fire

    great tune

  • lol at matchlock777, your not actually talking to bruce. lol

  • Hi Bruce; Love that Night Train man.

I kinda miss ya around Sharon etc.

Bud Melless her Bruce, how you been my friend? Nice to see you even though it IS here on YouTube.

  • I have no words for Bruce Cockburn's work. It's all far too poignant, far too beautiful.

  • Awesome! I've finally figured out how to play this song thanks to this.

    For anyone interested:

Tuning is EADF#BE and the chords are something like this:

    2x0000

    022200

    044200

    544000

And he just does different combinations of that with little variations.

  • @Rikkerink wow thanks

I just used conventional chords with this so far

  • @Rikkerink :thanks!

  • @Rikkerink

thanks! It sounds good. Try this too, same tuning...

    250000

    022200

    244400

    355000

    466500

  • @MrTruthPilgrim

that last one is 466400 - sounds better, more dissonance

  • @MrTruthPilgrim AHAH! I got it

    2x0000

    022222

    picking is on A 2-4 on G 0-2

    064500

  • Words that pain a visual in your noggin and make you think. I love his work!

  • His songs hold the test of time and lyrics just get more poignant!

  • When all the crap that passes as musical art these days starts to get tiring, it's comforting to know there are still real artists like Bruce Cockburn around making beautiful, timeless music.

  • @villastrangiato That's because, as I've learned over my 30 years of following Bruce, he doesn't just focus on just the good, or just on the bad, or on any one aspect of life; he tells the whole story; good, bad, ugly, and beautiful and does it with a command of the English language I can only aspire to attain... Words are his art, and music is his palette.

  • @villastrangiato agreed ...should have been realized 25 yrs ago ...that's when I bought my first Bruce Cockburn record ...have a full hand of aces in my collection ...

  • Thank you so much for posting Bruce...and all those Tom Snyder interviews!
