As an American, this really gives me a very strong impression of the majesty of Old England. As a younger, more populist nation, we don't have this kind of thing: an old patriotic song performed in a great old hall by a great orchestra and opera singer, to an outpouring of love and admiration for a country that is eons old. Man, all the hostility about countries being the US's bitch. The EU, together, is a stronger entity than the US, and I am an American. If people allow us to dominate, it is not due to our morals or strength, it has everything to do with money. The UK has been a super power for centuries, and remains so.
