The reason interns don't talk about esoal is because there was a mystique about the event that made it special. The "rolling the hill and throwing up" thing was stopped almost a decade ago. Also, the point of the event is to go through an incredibly emotionally and physically difficult event and see your way thru it with the power of God. The idea is to show interns that they can face more than they ever imagined without giving up. By the way, the internship & ESOAL are both 100% voluntary.
People are just weak minded. When life comes at you in full force and everything you know has been rainbows you'll be crushed. That never-quit attitude is what breeds millionaires, successful marriages and healthy families. America has been passing down this weak minded disposition generation after generation. So when a group of people test their mental fortitude they're consider to be in a cult? I think you quitters are in a cult; talking down to those who want to rise up and better themselves
I don't know why people complain about ESOAL no one makes you do it. If you don't want to do it don't, simply ring out. They offer the option pretty frequently, ESOAL is something that made me so strong. I am glad that I did it
Ron Luce, David Hasz and Teen Mania Ministries, hang strong we are all praying for you. Thank you for what you do. My daughter went through your Honor Academy and also through ESOAL and was blessed. We love you and so do many, many others!!
I attended an Acquire the Fire conference once. I remember them promoting this program. Man, am I glad they didn't convince any of my friends. This stuff is such B.S.

"What kind of stuff do you do at ESOAL?"
"I'm not allowed to talk about everything..."
My cult alarm just went off.
