I have a corgi who makes me laugh everytime she does this. She rolls around in snow, grass, leaves..pretty much in anything. Does anyone know why they do this?
Some are born naturally tailless, some are born with bob tails and others have tails. In the US, they still dock tails, but in some countries they do not.
LOL my pembroke puppy does this too! he is so cute! :) the first time I took him out in the snow (the very first time he saw snow) he ran back into the house and sat on his butt and lifted his feet up becuase his butt was SO cold! LOL it was so funny
it's great because the snow often gets a lot higher than her so she makes little tunnels or I clear a path.
One time our back yard iced over and she went "ice skating" i would rescue her from slipping and sliding, then she'd go right back to it. apparently it was fun on four paws, just not falling on a bum when you're 5'11" =/
There is an area where we take the boys where an ice patch usually forms. Porter, my Pem, has a lot of fun trying to run over it. Most times he looks like he is running in place as he cannot get a grip on ice. He always looks really happy doing this 'trick.'
Ah, they don't get tired of it. They love it and I have to make them come in from outside. My guys run kind of hot. On hot summer days, they hog the CA vents. I hate to say it, but they are looking forward to the snow to come again.
The short haired daschund we have was probably only a little smaller than your corgies, but HATES snow with a passion. We actually had to shovel the lawn or she would refuse to go to the bathroom outside. Nice to see stubby legged dogs having fun in it though.
Your corgis love the snow about as much as mine did! We got 14 inches once and it was the first time my dog saw snow. It was over her back but she ran and hopped having a good old time!
Your Fluffy is GORGEOUS! I love Fluffies and prefer them to the "normal" coated version. I wish they would breed them Fluffy, but unfortunately with DNA testing, they will probably end up breeding them out of the line completely. A shame.
Well it would be both and I still don't trust him yet. He is more independant than his Pem brother and is apt to run off after things even when called back. I prefer to refer to him as a "dork" and not a "tard." :)
haha! my corgi does the same thing in the snow she loves it! good video :)

Aw, so cute! My Pembroke loves the snow, too--he races around the yard in circles until there's hardly a square foot that's undisturbed.

thats cute, one still has a tail. just curious, why wasnt it docked?
CorgiLover25 3 years ago
He is a fluffy Cardigan Welsh Corgi. The Cardigans are not docked.
pembrokewcorgi 3 years ago
Oh, i couldn't tell if it was a cardigan or not. he is too fluffy and cute. He has such cute coloring, thats why i was unsure
CorgiLover25 3 years ago
As long as you didn't think he was a Sheltie mix....that is what I sometimes get from others. He is a purebred CWC...just fluffy and high drive.

Well my boys love the cold, so I think sometimes they use it to cool off after running around and heating up. It just must feel good.

I have on Question, are Pembrokes Tails docked at birth? Or are they born without one?
Shiekhanboy 3 years ago

:) The Cardigan looks like a fox. I've never seen one that color.

what kind of corgi is the one with a very small tail?
scootfd3s 4 years ago
The one that is basically tailless is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. The one with the tail is a Cardigan Welsh Corgi, who is also a fluffy.
