How many plies/thickness on the Bass and toms?

They sound ok... but a little dead for my tastes. I like more of a bow-sound from my kit. I prefer birch shells for the toms and maple for the snare and bass.

@2468DDT I agree... there are more variables involved than just the mics. No one ever asks what pre amps are used or if the sound is EQ'd.
