Head Over Heels was a very good album, but I don't think people can blame her releases from Spellbound (like "Blowing Kisses", which peaked at #6) as causing her downward spiral in popularity. That can almost fully be attributed to the changing climate of popular music and the fact that there was a 4-year gap between Spellbound and HOH, during which time grunge and R&B became more popular. Paula did do well outside the mainstream with HOH - My Love is For Real hit #1 on the Dance Club Charts.
