The hell!! Slade were really good back then, not saying this is bad! Slade has always been a good band making good songs, and Radio wall of sound and Merry christmas is both good songs, in my opinion their best songs are Cum on feel the noize an Far far away
I've recently rediscovered Slade, & for at least a few months now, All I seem to listen to at work is Slade. Better late than never I guess. Does anyone know where to find Slade CDs or would want to share Slade recordings? Send me a msg. Many of their albums are out of print, and I am having a hard time finding them anywhere. Which is why I've been listening to them on Youtube...
I have watched this a few times, and have only just realised that the opening "DJ" is Mike Read ex - BBC Radio1. This is probably the best thing he ever did lol.
Bloody fantastic end to the run of Slade hit singles. Most importantly it was a hit in the 90s giving them hits in three decades.
Don't be hard on Mike Reid: he was of very good support to Slade, especially in the 80s giving them invites onto pop shows and always playing their single releases. He also played album tracks too from Kamikazee, Rogues and You Boyz. He always wanted to have a hit himself so I guess Slade did the decent thing and invited him to appear on this-just guessing though.
This song appeared in 1991 also on the German Polydor pressing of their "Wall of hits"-Best-of-CD. Great, loud stamping rockers who reminds of their very best Glam rock times in the 70s and to which I listen still today over and over again with pleasure. Rockin' greetings from Germany.
Its cool to see Slade in this cool black dressed look, even though Slade wasnt about being cool but to rock (which they always did no matter the cloths)
That was on the video...Wall Of Hits...released in the 90's...yeah?? I was born just 2 years AFTER they split, I am SOOOO pissed off and jealous i didnt grow up in their heyday! im so annoyed! cause i love them so much...especially Noddy...funny bugger he was.
Was??!!!... He still very much IS a Funny Bugger. He's still doing his thing, Huge Curly Mane of Hair still his Trademark Image, so keep an Eye out for him. Particularly look him up on Never Mind the Buzzcocks as he guested on it not too long ago.
another great song to chart in 1991. There were a few but couldnt match the quality of the 80's as regards the quantity of great songs being released. But slade were pretty good throughout their career

Saying "one of Slade's best hits" is like saying "one of the bigger waves in the sea". There are a lot of big ones.

Alrighty. Im not a Brit, and i dont watch British T.V so i wouldnt know what he's been on, or in.
Of course he hasnt changed his look now, with how old he is, people might now recognise him if he did change his look.
Alrighty, ill look at it.

Is Jim Lea (bass guitar) the lead singer on this song/video?! Wow...
This is my favorite Slade-song, next to "My Oh My", "Let's Call It Quits" and "Everyday".
