An 06 is a 2nd Gen X, mine's a 1st Gen like your 02 Fronty. Totally different vehicle, no common parts. The only thing negative I've heard about 2nd Gen is that they saved weight by going from cast steel to aluminum alloy for the drive train and engine block. Not quite as tough as the 1st Gen.

They're good for what they're designed for and that's protecting the rad/headlights from branches when you bush-bash. But a serious collision will do damage to the frame while saving your bumper. Damage to the frame to transfer damage to the engine mounts and cause you more headaches. Mine came with it, but knowing what I do now I wouldn't get one, I'd save up for an integrated guard/off road bumper.
Well, it may look cool, but it's really a 'damage enhancer' if I ever have a front-end collision because it'll warp the front frame where it's connected. Eventually I want to swap out the front end with an off-road bumper that integrates the grill guard.
255/65R16 stock size General AT2 Grabbers. Great AT tire and wear really well. I'll be moving up in size after my 3" suspension lift. Until then, I'll have girly-sized tires.
Hey there, selling my 2002 Frontier to get a used Xterra (06 or newer) any issues you know of or complaints with the xterra?
