  • i remember the first time i saw a glh.. 1998 i was at new england dragway with my buddies, i was 17 and racing my 5 liter mustang which was stock at the time, turning 14 second times. this guy was there with an omni running low 13s. what a badass little sleeper

  • These cars are so awesome. I had a GLHS back in 89... it would consistently humiliate 5.0's and IROCS ... very little work done to it, the most extensive work done was the cat back exhaust and a port job... liked to eat clutches tho ..LOL

  • @scoutsniper95 You should have upgrated the clutch with a Mopar performance racing clutch or Centerforce Unit , I would pay to see the Iroc and Stang' owner's face !!! Lolllll !!!

  • You can take anything and hop up the engine, trans, suspension, and tires and it will beat anything stock, its like a drag rage between a NASCAR Camry and a stock Camry, youre comparing apples to oranges.

  • I remember when that car was in my buddies back yard in Lemay. The guy let the car go to hell though. He ruined it by never getting it titled. Made all sorts of problems for the guy he sold it to. It was a cool car. Except for the little flame decals......maybe they just added to the character though. The rare parts on it were pretty damn cool though.

  • I know, the omni just smoked that Vette, and they still argue? I mean really!? A Vette is a piece of shit at that year and below anyway! My Shelby Dodge Charger could beat one stock! They're truly sad cars.

  • @fsjfanatic zr1 may cost you 110k but not a zo6, the omni still whoops the corvettes ass in the 1/4 but try racing on a track and you will see where the corvette excels

  • @fsjfanatic z06 is not 110 grand and this is the old c5 z06 not even 70 grand brand new.Besides that omni with all the mods is a lot more than 11 grand and it is fast but still an omni!

  • @camirocz buddy it does not cost any where near that much money to make a GLHS fast. my GLH stock will run low 13s and beat nearly every thing on the road. quite being stupid. And i do know what im talking about because i own a glh and my dad owns a glhs 86 #76 made and won last man standing here in spokane.

  • @875109725710 we use to race these omnis back in the 80s yes they were uick for what they were as in mid 15s but lets not exagerate the c6 z06 is a whole other car.

  • @875109725710 Your dads glh is not going to beat a c6 z06 on drag radials ,relax kid that vette is going to run low 11s even high tens at over 127 miles per hour and has a top speed of 198 mph stop dreaming ,go have a banana split at the dairy queen and then come back to the real world...Come on now.

  • @camirocz You should pay attention. I said a GLHS, which is a shelby. And my dad's GLHS can do 130 at the traps, and is a 10second car. Not only is it a great drag car but It is a great handling car. Stop being a fan boy and start believing that a Vette isn't the worlds un-beatable car. I've grown up around many different types of cars, and I know something about them.

  • @875109725710 I am not a fan boy i love gtrs z06,zr1, 911 turbo, i love them all but dont put a glhs in that class of cars they ran 14.75 stock all they had over the glh was the fact they were intercooled.You are the fan just bcause your dad has one its a good little car but thats all.

  • @camirocz I never said my dads GLHS was stock. It beat every single car out of 81 at the dragstrip winning the trophy as Last Man Standing. And there were Vettes there. Sure the Vette would beat a couple. But not everyone! I do like Vettes. But I don't think that it would compare in performance like my dad's GLHS. But Vettes are a better Sunday driver.

  • @camirocz Buddy, my dads "little glhs" has 500 wheel horse power and runs high 12s. it is far from stock my friend.what your saying would be true if we were talking about a stock glhs or glh, which we are not. and a glh runs about 14.75 stock and a glhs runs about high 13s. you would be surprised at what they can do. haha i bet you even like Japanese cars! what a fool you would be!

  • @HeadCase195 Oh, that was my stupid brother who knows very little about what he's saying. It doesn't have 500bhp just yet, but before it ran 324bhb, and that time ran low 12's... It's expected to run low 10's when it's completed. Just a Shelby Dodge Charger 1987 special edition, (which is what I have), will run 12's just by being ported. It also has a lighter build then the GLHS Omni, so I know for a fact that the GLH and GLHS can run 10's easily with the heavier build, with hardly anything done

  • LOL It looked like the Vette driver was asleep off the light, probably figured it would be an easy race, so why push the start. You can hear him realize hes getting his ass kicked and he guns it about 1/3 down the track. Too late!

  • Not to try to take anything away from that GLH (which is obviously not stock and appeared to be on drag slicks), but that 'Vette got an awful launch. Put slicks on the vette and it'd be a great race.

  • No... FWD will always be FTL. This car is just really light, and has lots of power. Put the same power to weight ratio in a RWD car and it will always launch better.

  • I never had any problems out of my Reliant or Daytona. Fantastic, dependable little cars. My Reliant got my family home on a broke frame after being hit by Pontiac something or another. The Daytona could smoke just about anything.

  • I worked for a dodge dealer as a line mechanic.Let me tell you,those cars were quick,severe torque steer,you better have the steering wheel straight when the boost comes on or its into the woods you go.

  • I owned an 85 GLH turbo and it was stock. It would never beat a zo6 but plenty of other cars. I used to pull up next to cars and blow them away! They would look down at the side skirts and read GLH TURBO and go WTF is that thing. I miss that car, Would beat 99% percent of these punks with riced up cheese boxes with fart can mufflers I see riding around. It had 200k on it and the never rebuilt the engine or turbo when I sold it. Oh yea I never had any problem getting laid!

  • A lot of people discount the Shelby Mopar cars, but few remember that the 1986 GLHS beat the classic Shelby GT350 on the track. In 1986, Chrysler had the Super 60 package which put out 300HP out of a 4 cylinder. And these cars were LIGHT.

  • Actually I test drive them all day and I have three of them...1990 (7800miles), 2006 (2345miles), 2007supercharged version (4miles), so do hate....I only get the vettes for a collection. I have 24 cars total, I work in the design team that designed GMs cars, and I did work on the z06, have fun...with the cheap plastic parts from the design team and I

  • Gm did not make a supercharged version, but the kennebell supercharger was an addition not installed from the factory. I insult the vette, but hey we are only allowed to design on paper and what GM wants to build to the public is what you have..and I laugh that an Omni can beat it...Don't have cuz I have a betterone. There will be always be a better one, even than mine

  • Hold on now! That little GLH is far from a crap car some ones worked on. I read in hemmings muscle machines that the GLH Turbo had a hp to weight ratio of like 13.5 lbs to the hp stock. Still I understand your point on enjoying how an average car can handle a rich mans sports car with the right mods and driver.
