Nice polishing job. One tip I've found to prevent 'SHITS" is to use a length of heat shrink tubing over the collet chuck. That way, if you do touch the work with the chuck, it won't mar it. Since you only finger tighten the chuck, the heat shrink wil last a long time. I agree totally about the Dremel - it is a wonderful, versitile power tool. Thanks for posting.,
Nice video, Looks great. Only suggestion I have is to solid mount the dremel on the edge of your workbench and that way you have more control of the knife and really work that polish. Just my opinion. What type of polish are you using?
i polished my knife with dremel in about 2 hours (using two hands helps alot) and damascus is pretty hard to mirror polish anyway. Nice video anyway^^
hey,so i came across a taylor cuttlery 440 japanese steel blade no too long ago and i wanna keep it in better condition.its alittle roughed up,parts of the edge is alittle chipped.any tips for starters would help?(:
i wanna be able to look back at this blade when im alot older,no better way then to start young.great vid by the way, pretty cool looking blade
Hehe, I would certainly not bring it to a sharpness beyond haircutting, I was out fishing with a friend, and I had such sharpness on a blade he was borrowing my knife to cut the fishing line and he cut him self without knowing, he was going like why the hell is there blood all over the place, and I just said... "told you to be careful with that thing". So paper cutting sharp is ok in any cases I think.
@MatrixOne976 Well after the current contest ends Im probably going to hold of a bit, do some other vids and another giveaway then give this thing away. to be honest its a LONG way from being done. The handles will take me and my limited time over a week to complete.
@Barricade696 no worries i just would love to enter to win a damacus knife. great looking knife! id love to have one in my collection. would be a great first fixed blade to start that collection.
@gcboyallday i think the damascus in the polished part looks amazing! man i wish i had a damascus blade right now /: moneys tight, too many bills. although i have a spyderco and 2 kershaws coming in the mail this coming week so thats something to look forward to :) keep up the AMAZING work man! looking forward to seeing a lot more, subbed! maybe ill make some videos soon!
@gcboyallday Thanks for the kind words. Im going to be giving this one away in the next couple weeks so stay tuned and make sure you get in the contest.
@gcboyallday Hey not yet. Im actually just back after some personal stuff. Ill be giving this away in the next couple weeks. So make sure you get in the contest.!
@Barricade696 AWESOME! :D I thought you gave it away by now!:) Can you message me about the contest? Thanks so much Barricade696! btw i just uploaded my first videos if you want to check them out :)
@Laggeros hahah well thank you very much for the kind words. Im certainly not an "artist" just a hobbiest really. But I have alot of fun doing it, and its just nice to have somthing that no one else has... :)
I enjoy seeing the process and then the finished product more than just the final product. The effort and time put into the blade just makes it all the more special. If I had the money, I'd be making my own blades as a hobby. I can't believe you'd even give this away. Its just too damn nice
@10iggi01 Thanks its important to me to show the process and if you do happen to end up with it you can see it taking form which I think is pretty cool. I Totally understand on the money aspect making these things. I have ALOT of money in this thing already and its way more expensive and more time consuming then just buying a knife, but to me it just adds a bit of custom that I just love. No one on the planet will have this knife except whoever wins it. And to me thats just sick.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. You rock!

Sweet vid. Why are you using red rouge? Isn't red for precious metals? I thought green was for metal. Just curious. Thanks!
