Watched it in China because there was no other English language film at that cinema. Don't bother unless there is nothing else to watch, its predictable, a little boring and nothing new. Denzal Washington tries his best to life up a poor script. Grade B film that may be worth watching from the local video hire shop.

Screw the haters, its about time we got a good action movie. Runaway Train movie rip off or not, lame story or not, cheesy 1 liners or not, I am already impressed with this movie. It takes a lot to film trains. They are heavy, expensive machines to operate and its not like you can just turn it around to re shoot a scene. I'm looking forward to this!

Turns out there were a number of AC44CW's that were leased from CP for this movie and painted in the fictional scheme of AWVR (Allegheny West Virginia Railroad). One of these units that I found a picture of was later renumbered back as the CP 9758 after filming was completed early this year. The SD40-2's in this movie were leased from Wheeling & Lake Erie.

This is only the trailer and I have already spotted mistakes in the movie. When the locomotive hits the horse trailer the left ditch light breaks. When the police are shooting at the engine the left ditch ligtht is working but the right one is broken. This is what happens when you use multiple locomotives or cars in crash sequences and film them in the opposite order they appear in the final film.

@eckosama Grabbed it by the tail and slowed it enough to get a person on the lead train engine to shut it down. This runaway train only had about 47 cars and one engine. In the movie, the runaway train has 2 engines, both 4400HP, while the engine trying to stop it only has 3000HP so it makes it a much more difficult task to slow down.
