Thing is, Superman and Superman II rocked. III and IV, by all accounts, didn't (as a Superman fan, I refuse to see the last two). And yes, Returns put too much stock in the original movies. But some times people need to remember that not only do we owe the modern superhero genre to Superman and Superman II, they are awesome.movies in their own right.

Superman Returns was directed by Bryan Singer, who is always amazing. It got great reviews and made almost 400 million dollars. Quentin Tarantino wanted to award Singer with a best director award for it. I suspect you kids just arent old enough to appreciate quality story telling yet. Also Batman is a DC hero, and Nolan's Batman movies are way better then Spidermans. In my humble opinion:

1. Dark Knight - Nolan

2. X-Men 2 - Singer

3. Batman Returns - Burton

@Na11441 I didn't so much mind the story as there was no action in the story. Spider-Man 2, to this day, is my favorite comic book movie because it had the action and the amazing story. Now, take Spider-Man 3, for instance, it had almost no story and mindless action. Yet, I still found it worth watching those fights over and over. Superman Returns was about the opposite of Spider-Man 3, as it had a story, BUT only that. It had no fight sequences to drive the story forward. Everything is good in
