thx brah, i recommend this method for anyone trying to "RE"program your remote.

You guys are so dependent on the internet. You know you can just call Dish Network and they will guide you with ANY problems you have. Also, for a more SIMPLE way of fixing your remote. You can open your Dish Network receiver, PRESS "SYSTEM INFO" (NOT INFO) and then PRESS "RECORD" 3 TIMES. After you are done with this, simply PRESS "SELECT". And BAM! You got a working remote...

is this a newer receiver model or something cuz the only part on the front that opens up is a hatch to a removable green chip. my dog ate the main tv remote so it doesn't work at all and i'm trying to resync the second tv remote to become the main remote like the first one was but the sat button has been pressed so many times that it doesn't work any more, i guess we'll just have to order new remotes.

@ColorfulMusiicNotes use the front panel of the receiver, or press "power" then "up" if its still not working, pull the smart card half way out

There is a mode button behind the door on the front right side of the receiver or just on the right side unless your receiver is a 322 model.

If it is a 322 model check the cables in the back of the receiver and make sure that if you are using red white and yellow cables that they are in the top row not the bottom row.

The model # is on the front left side of the receiver.

The second step in your instructions never specifies holding down the SAT button on the NEW REMOTE as opposed to the "existing remote". Hellllo?!

On the front of the receiver there is button that says "mode". Press that so that the light is lit on the the "dual" symbol.

I believe you can just open the tab on the front of your receiver and press the "mode" button until the light comes on.

@RCScadet08 that is a no receiver power issue, if the receiver is connecrted to a wwall switch or power strip, make sure that it in on. then press the power button on the front of the receiver, if it still wont power on, unpug the receiver from the wall for 10 seconds, if it still wont get fixed, call us! we are to help you out!
