I love living in Canada. Having been born and growing up in an extremely conservative country (Philippines). I can tell first hand just how much more awesome a liberal, open-minded society is compared to an intolerant religious one. The only good conservative value that I find is close family ties. The government can't force religious institutions to perform religious ceremonies that they don't want to. I love living in Canada. Having been born and growing up in an extremely conservative country (Philippines). I can tell first hand just how much more awesome a liberal, open-minded society is compared to an intolerant religious one. The only good conservative value that I find is close family ties. But for everything else, all you will find is intolerance and ignorance if you don't conform to society's expectations and demands.

Can you not look beyond the gender of the people getting married and see that two people are in love, and two people want to spend the rest of their lives together. The same with same-sex parenting, look beyond the gender of the people adopting children and open your eyes.
