I'm a 6' 3'' tall ginger haired Englishman, tough as old boots, but having watched Fine Things as a 17 year old ten years ago, I remember crying my eyes out when D.W. Moffetts's wife died of cancer. So sad. I love you Yanquis for making such tear-jerking movies. You Yanquis are the most imaginative and creative thinkers on the planet. God bless America. (I think I'm going to cry again now.)
I wrote to her via her book publisher who forwarded them to her at her New York address.I also got a letter from Mickey Spillane before he died.I also have letters from Mary Higgins Clark,Margaret Atwood,a postcard from John Jakes and a script sent to me by Waltons' Falcon Crest creator Earl Hamner.
Check with the publisher about guidelines. All of the info is on the publishers' websites.Next you may need an agent because a number of book publishers will not look at nonagented material. But there are publishers who do accept stories without an agent. Before you deal with any agent, check them out first by going to the Better Business Bureau's website.Or The Federal Trade Commission, the state consumer affairs or attorney general's office.
Sorry it took me a good while to get back with you.I had some places to run to.If you contact the publishers for info by snail mail you must SASE.Also all the info is posted on the publishers' website. If you write short stories the magazine market is good but the recession is hitting them.Get the latest copy of Writers Market book for the list of book publishers or Wikipedia is fine.

Also,do not do business with agents who ask for fees upfront. There are some good ones but it is the dirty ones you need to avoid.

Make sure you send the publishers and or agent typed manuscripts and keep a copy just in case it gets lost in the mail.
