  • You can tell he is a beginnier, by the way he comfortably jumps into the higher range up to an A, uses the third valve slide properly and maintains a steady tone. All kidding aside, I found this to be a wonderful video for young students and recommend it. As a former trumpet teacher and high school band director, I was impressed.

  • some day my prince will come lol

  • eft right left right left right left right left right left right left right left right left right

  • where is that bald guy when you need him.

  • i've met her!!!

  • These guys really have it together. I am hopping that this works.

  • crap,my mouthpiece got stuck

  • NEVER BANG IT IN!

  • @quyenthenghiem LOL dude, upon hearing that, i laughed out loud, cause i saw your comment first before i heard her say that. LOL

  • @quyenthenghiem that's what she said.

  • @Snakemast345 Nice. 2 out of 5, though. Too easy.

  • @quyenthenghiem and make sure you put it in with a slight turn to the right

  • @AnalStory I don't know what you and "guyinthephlegm" are talking about, but let's clean it up - kids see this stuff. As for the beginner's lesson, I think they are too worried about technique here. Check out my featured video, "Modern Jazz Clinic". This is a student of mine playing after ONE DAY of lessons. The results speak for themselves.

  • I wanna play like that guy one day.

  • Good idea in theory. Except that no ten year old is going to go home and NOT put the mouthpiece in the horn and begin playing. Better get all that done in the first lesson or have a multitude of bad habits to correct. OR - send them home without the trumpet and just the mouthpiece.

  • but once the fun of "oh look at me i have a trumpet" and realizing you cant play much wears off they may start to listen... and it could even be older then 10 people or just a mature enough person to do as a teacher tells them. like obviously when you get something new your kinda excited to try it out but then you usually wanna learn to use it properly and treat it well.

  • The piece that is played at the beginning is from Hydn. Alison Bolsom beautifully plays it.

  • the song he plays in the end is "someday my prince will come

  • Fantástico. Parabens!

  • What's the song he plays at the end? I must know!

  • dang that was helpful, I'll use that!!!!

  • wow, the straw thing is a really good idea! I agree it's so much better to start kids on the mouthpiece first and then add the horn.

  • Great videos!!!

  • Nice work guys!

  • thank you so much this was very helpful for me because i m a student and learning the trumpet .

    Thank you Patrick

  • This is great. I just used the technic in three middle school beginning classes and it worked very well.

  • I love that straw technique! Great idea!

  • Nice lesson! Thanks

  • Great advice! Thanks for helping me to avoid over thinking... and just relaxing with a better aperture.
