If I was a cigarrette marketer I wouldnt think I kill people for a living. I provide a way for people to kill themselves. Who is at fault? the providal or the suicidal?
yeah but it says right on the box, "Do not buy this, do not smoke this" Yes after many many years of addiction . suddenly It says on the box : "Do not buy this, do not smoke this
Lorax2013, while I am disappointed that you don't make more videos, I thank you for the one's you do make. You truly do have a wonderful point of view on things. I particularly like your elaboration on the world economy and finances.
One minute into this, he preaches the "not me", "not my fault" generation. Cigarette manufacturers DON"T kill people. People kill themselves. No one forces anyone to smoke.
That is so totally true, but also implies it's ok to give someone a gun knowing they want to kill themselves. Or if someone has AIDS it's ok to enguage in dangerous sex, as partners are responsible for their own protection. Some have that philosophy, but I still wonder if EVERYONE has to be accountable for their actions and how their behaviour affects others and the whole. Some people are dumb that is true, but should one make a living from encouraging them?
i dont think people would break down or go into shock from becoming fully conscious, thats a pretty cynical way to look at it. as you become more conscious of the good and bad in the world the final realization should be, there is no good and evil because they are opinions from perspective and you should be finally at peace. meditation works because instead of taking the long path of becoming conscious of every aspect in your life, become conscious of your true self and all will fall in line.
I was a heavy equipment operator, killing animals when I excavated. It made me sick. Instead of getting Prozac to "manage" the pain from killing the animals, I left the job - which meant no pension - after some years of putting in. I am bascially broke and unemployed. But I took that time to learn how to grow my families food and how to compost and the cleaner my system got, the easier life got because the medicinal and nutritional value from the plants helped us to re-align our priorities.
1 timothy 4 verse 2 states: by the hypocrisy of men who speak lies marked in their conscience as with a branding iron.I feel that our conscience soon will condemn us if we don't allow it to guide us. I can look back so many times in life, and actually wish i had listen to my conscience about what was right or wrong. If were not careful, and we go against our better judgement, harm may come to us.However, doing what we feel is right guided by a good conscience, will give us peace.

I don't mean to be thinking negatively here but there is something you left out. Say cigarette marketer finds another line of work, made the necessary change in his life. (his quest for higher consciousness) He may be all right for awhile but then GUILT is going to set in. "Why didn't I change sooner, it could have saved lives blah blah" Guilt, shame, remorse only when you can rid yourself of these, then one can feel free. It can be done too.
you said you are not expert... so shut the fuck up you ruin your life.. you really don`t know what your saying...moron..higher consciousness is for people don`t like you false talker..you`re point is very far from the reality..you can`t talk UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN THERE!
@FaidleyEthan Cigarettes and their marketers are not the main point of this video. It's just an analogy for any other job or action which has a negative consequence people prefer to be in denial about. I probably should have been more clear since a lot of people focused on the cigarette debate.
a cigarette vendor or marketeer, just want to eat in the evening...
Im no smoker, but i realize those people are NOT killing people for a living... call it higher state of conciousness... How can you talk about higher conciousness, if you're condaming a certain group of people... This is just your ideal... your ideal is smoking is bad and everyone who is in that line of work, is killing people... Ideals have nothing to do with higher conciousness.
Your kidding? I could see your point in 1950 but when dose a smoker take responsibility for there own actions? If I sell a box of matches to some one and there house burns down should I feel bad? Is you idea of higher consciousness another word for social responsibility? If I choose to take a harmful action (with full knowledge) is that not my responsibility and is not your social responsibility a form of suppression of my freedom.
A bit simplistic but I like your illustration. The reason why I say its a bit simplistic is because an intelectual realization like the above mentiond is not a true realiztion. Its just more noise unless it transends to the heart. There is an emotional component involved that necesitates aceptance and forgivness of self. An intalectual concept is just a concept, even if we can all agree that its true. Conciousness is inconcievable though not unatainable.

I have a high level of respect for what your saying. I'm an Artist. Science needs more artists that dont need graphs and charts to make things legit in Science. Give Artists equal funding as science and things will progress so much faster
If you're buying cigarettes, aren't you killing yourself out of your own volition? Cigarette marketing guy is just taking advantage of people's own voluntary self-destruction. They're not really the ones doing the killing, it's you, the cigarette smoker.
@mrcuteblackie and who determines someones expertise?is that someone an expert? and who made him an expert? the previous expert? or is there an experts, expert? expert - A person with a high degree of skill in or knowledge of a certain subject.i would say he is an expert at getting in touch with his own conscience.while his expertise is in a very narrow field and obviously of a very personal nature , we all share a consciousness to one limiting degree or another.
I'm addicted to youtube.....I sit here for hours looking at this stuff....so you my friend are killing me! My mother was killed by cigarettes but she was fully aware of the health risks of cigarettes, so I think it is hyperbole to say "cigarette marketing guy" is a "killer". I don't smoke but I drink and enjoy doing so! Are beer marketers informing me of new products or killing me? Ultimately it is up to the individual to assess risk and then sleep the in the bed they make for themselves!
I think the processes of the mind are always open to wild thoeries because so little is known. but people have a tendacy of taking the wrong answer over no answer, when a no answer is appropriate due to the level of knowledge.
The best book i have ever read that explains the mind, doesn't even attempt to do so, it is 'the selfish gene'. it is the best in my opinion because you will see the evolutionary reason why the brain exists at all. it sets the perspective more than anything.
@TheAttackRat or you can take LSD. but try not to become some kind of spirituality freak.
Really, everything can be broken down to physics in the end, and the universe (at our size level) is completely determined. this does not conflict with consciousness one bit, and it is because the universe is determined that consciousness can arise. Also, one more point is that there is no intrinsic meaning to the universe except meaning that we give it ourselves. leave emotion out completely for the truth.
if we attained higher consciousness in the way you just mentioned, then we would all stop eating meat. we would see the pain and suffering it causes animal, we see how it hurts us in return, and we would stop.
I just realized the change made to our consciousness when Adam and Eve ate the fruit and for the first time realized they were naked. Talk about a higher state of consciousness!
I'm a vegetarian and I don't think meat eaters kill animals. Why do you think that cigarette marketers kill people? They encourage people to buy cigarettes that's all. How much they smoke, how they live, along with their states of mind, determines whether or not they die. Furthermore, if they smoke at all it is THEIR decision, no one else's. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but we ought to be clear on who makes the decision.
words cannot describe the complete isolation I feel on a daily basis being surrounded by these types of people (those who cloud their own mind purposely) so many are giving away their individuality and personal experiences and marginalize them for the sake of the mass cultural disease of ignorance and falsified ego. it all becomes clearer to me every day that all Ive ever known but been told not to think is the complete truth and the feeling of being told who to be is becoming unbearable.
such generalizations like if you understand the outcome of all actions ever, your so deluded, you have no idea where the cigarrete maker guys journey will finally take him or maybe his kid will cure cancer, its dangerous to act like you know how everything will work out, Big Brother much!
Have you ever studied DMT? There are people who go to shamans and take ayahuasca, a brew that contains DMT and an MAOI so that the DMT can go to the brain. In a lot of these experiences, the person comes out feeling more aware, more alive, more conscious. It makes sense because DMT is naturally occuring in the brain, but not in large enough amounts at any one time to induce this kind of experience, but perhaps in rare instances.
@spiralmewtrix DMT is the most interesting thing Ive ever researched I hope to someday experience it even though it is almost impossible to come by especially around here.
@rhombusskullvsteal Have you ever read DMT: The Spirit Molecule by Rick Strassman? It's a great read if you love researching DMT. I am very interested in the theory of it being the reason behind dreams being vivid, and how dreams can feel like something outside of ourselves when we could swear it's just a projection of our own minds.
To me tobacco is a gift of God, and I do not believe that moderate and sensitive smoking of choice tobacco is killing anyone who truly seeks God´s kingdom. This video is about relative moral issues, not higher consciousness. To me higher consciousness is to know, among others, that behind human conscience is God´s spirit and God´s word.
I dont't think that higher consciousness and higher morale are the same , nor is feeling better about the world and yourself.Higher consciousness means more intelligence , you also precieve world better.Humans have limits , you can't develop 100x more intelligent people or even million times more intelligent people by meditation.
Cyberdaemon, shouldn't higher morale be a consequence of the higher consciousness? Makes sense to me.
Feeling better about the world and yourself - well, I know many that seem happy and don't really know what's going on around them. That would probably have more to do with emotions rather than consciousness.
And last, I think we are limited by time only (I don't mention disabilities here). Who knows how much would we develop if we could live longer?
@cyberdaemon I see your points, but consider that higher consciousness would bring about higher morals and higher morale (in the long term). Lorax2013 isnt talking about thought based intelligence when he refers to consciousness, or saying that meditation makes people "intelligent"
@KendeSilva You can be superintelligent and still do evil. You know superevolved aliens wouln't necesarely help humans or act nice , they could simply treat us as cattle.
@cyberdaemon I see your points, but consider that higher consciousness would bring about higher morals and higher morale (in the long term). Lorax2013 isnt talking about thought based intelligence when he refers to consciousness, or saying that meditation makes people "intelligent"
What is higher consciousness in a first place ? Because for me , higher consciousness means higher situational awarenss. And humans do have limits on that.
Poor cigaret marketer. You made him so miserable lorax. You didn't say anything about those who smoke. They choose to smoke, that's their decision to waste their health. What about their consciousness? Cigaret marketer as any other marketer just sells the product. We are free to buy the product or not tu buy it. I wouldn't blame the marketer here. We all have a consciousness, don't we?
Thanks for your thoughts. I intuitively agree w/ many of your ideas on "higher consciousness", esp. as something that IS, vs. a "thing" "out there" we must strive to achieve. I'm still exploring/experimenting w/ ways to experience this "field" more consistently; meditation being my preferred practice currently.
Also reminds me of C.G. Jung's description at the beginning of "Memories, Dreams and Reflections"...
...where, as a boy, he had a pervasive image or thought or idea which seemed to be forcing its way into his waking consciousness. He exhausted himself trying to repress it, for it seemed terribly sacrilegious to his religious training (the image, when he finally "allowed" it, was of God taking a crap on a cathedral). Finally, he relaxed, "allowed" the image, and felt a huge sense of peace. Kinda like your cigarette-guy allowing higher consciousness thru finally...Thanks again!
What yo say probably has a lot of truth in it. I'd like to point out, nevertheless, three things: apparenlty mediation practices often motivates the meditator to act with accordance to his/her values in the long term and not only temporarily. Two: LSD is not toxic. Finally: A higher state of consciousness, or a 'mystical experience' (mind I'm atheist and agnostic), can be much more profound than the realization of our own immorality. These experiences are go quite beyond description.
I think what you mean is - be aware of how you can distract yourself from thinking about issues that make you feel bad (guilty etc.) and instead, think those issues through logically and reasonably (lookup: 'critical thinking' for help on clearer thought) untill you find a better way to deal with it. The better your thinking, the better the solution will be. Simple! (At least in theory. Putting it into practice take time and effort, your not gonna get a quick fix (don't accept unproven methods))
I have a Q, But First: I just want to say, I think your F**King AWESOME I love that you dont have a stupid theme song & that you dont waste my time with your goodbye or that you say things straight, to the point. You have great style. & TY
My Q: I personally have built up a lot of walls and prejudiced against things in my life based on social ideals or personal ideals how do i move past it? how can i let go? I think this would help me in my life a great deal. any answer would be greatly appreci
Additionally I think it would be easier to achieve a higher state of consciousness by ignoring your preformed notions and ideas about reality and the way the world works (most of which aren't really your own anyway, but programmed in to you). So, in essence, become a nihilist for a little while.
Then look at reality, not your personal reality, but real reality and develop a new mindset based on what is observable and what works, not by kneejerking yourself into a reactionary response.
I disagree that "cigarette guy" would be finding higher consciousness by finding a new career (regardless of whether or not it's consciously). Him finding higher consciousness would be realizing that human life is not sacred, overpopulation is the biggest problem facing the world at the moment and therefore morons choosing to voluntarily off themselves is a good thing.
haha wow thumps up for sharing that one. I guess its considered bad to want your own space and to live free and not be affected negatively by others actions and i am guessing that's why you got 3 thumps down... Can anyone explain why its bad to say "let people off themselves" if they wish? I believe in freedom of choice and to be against this is to be against someone personal freedom of choice but also think there are too many people and that's why we are losing freedom & in traffic so much.
I always get sleepy when I watch your videos.Don't get me wrong,I really enjoy watching your thoughts but about half way through I start closing my eyes.I think you are hypnotizing me.
@brufadeve sounds like what he is saying about another way to repress a higher state of consciousness ...the buddha says alot about sleep and being sleepy...
when i think about things like peak oil and global warming and the money crisis i feel all these monsters are closing in on us. we try and block these things out and blame corperations but these problems are our responsibility and if we continue this collective way of thinking all hell will break loose and our global consciouness will have a skitsophrenic meltdown as described in this video
There are a lot of assumptions contributing to this so-called consciousness. Because if you follow it thru, you realize our whole existence is a dance with death. You can maybe postpone it a little but in the end death makes its claim.
I am not a smoker. I am not a tobacco industry employee. But I have worked in the military industrial complex and millions work for a government that thrives on constant war & death. And we pay taxes to it. Guilt for everyone !
All experience ever referenced, in any and all cases, is conscious. There is no documented example of any experience that is not either fully conscious, or at least associated with consciousness.
Therefore, to assume that the original cause of all experience is somehow not conscious is very illogical and unscientific. Experience is always conscious, and so it follows logically and scientifically that the original cause of all experience is also conscious.
What you're saying is absolutely wonderful, the way you put it is just so interesting and witty. Thanks for giving a more three dimensional view on these things, we need to achieve a state of collective counciousness if we are to survive through what is going to happen. But from the way you explain it, i can grasp the concept and i will keep that explanation in mind to further awaken my peers. Great video.
You speak truth. Those we define as 'genius' have a hard time suppressing what you have described as 'higher consciousness', because when you have this level of awareness it permeates everything one observes. It can be overwhelming.
DUDE the statement about him going into shock with a higher conciousness and them givin him drugs to put it back to where it was to begin with was fuckin brilliantly funny. (for lack of a better term.
Can you please make a video on denial? Why we have it? How to recognize it? How to break threw it? I have read much on religion, emotions, politics, love, etc. But have fond nothing on the subject of denial. I had to see God to believe, I had to get sick from tobacco, to believe it would harm me, I had to become sick from toxic mold, to believe mold was toxic. I have not figured out why i am such a skeptic. I do not blame myself, I feel others have lied to me. Only when facts manifest can I C.
you, sir, i what i like to call an "intellectual." just about everyone here is an intellectual or is attempting to rise above standard thinking. Im not going to express my entire opinion here, but i will say this: i have searched for higher thinking or higher conciousness videos and i have found VERY VERY few. Intellectuals are rare. you know who you are and you know if you have this higher thinking. I'd love to hear what you have to say. Maybe we can help eachother gain something...
I just love your videos, sir. You have what I wish a lot more people had, and that's insight into what they're doing. That's not to mention true intelligence. Keep the videos coming because they are very eye-opening and thought provoking.
This may be a can of super natural, quantum ......wow(?), but what are the thoughts on lucidity, when talking about innate awareness as consciousness (which I agree with), and higher consciousness. Certainly if you have experienced lucid dreaming, that is a fairly undeniable state of greater consciousness.
I have heard of an indian in the southern U.S. who believes he has achieved acts of lucidity and seeing the future. His example: staring at the palm of your hand every night until you can dream of this plam perfectly. Then you will recieve higher conciousness and be able to achieve lucidity or possibley see future events. Hopefully you have heard the same? If not look it up. I'm trying to study.. or better yet, re-acquire this knowledge.....
I have studied under a professor at a university the basis of, and even methods for activation of lucid dreaming. I have never went into interests of seeing the future. But looking at you hand in a dream is one method of awakening in the lucid dream.
I find it is a bit like riding a bike, once you know how to you can never forget. You can also wake yourself up during the dream to ensure you remember.
Another method to awaken, is looking at the time in a dream. Think about that.
This sure agrees with my experience. In the army I had to do all kinds of degrading things and follow the orders of the biggest collection of idiots I've ever encountered. The only defense I had was to try not to care. Still I was depressed and close to suicide. Then I got out and went to Diesel School and got a job fixing trucks. Suddenly I was doing something that helped society rather than destroying. The depression lifted like magic. Now I'm one of the happiest people I know.
reminds me a bit of Robert Lowell's poem ...." he wore rope shoes and preferred fallen fruit" it is about a conscientious objector.
other than photosynthetic bacteria, what life form can survive without consuming other life forms?
somedays, to rise above the daily annoyances of sensing negative human emotions, i imagine a beam of light emanating from my heart chakra, diffusing negativity, it works.
what about people who work in the car industry?what about the military?what about the farmer who sprays pestizide? I am a nurse, and I feel really bad about the fact that I have to give patient medication, that is mostly really bad for their health. last question, wouldnt you do any job to feed your family?
I hear ya, there really isn't any job nowadays that doesn't have some moral hazard to it. But I guess some jobs are worse than others. I think if you do more good than harm, then it shouldn't wear you down too much.
Lorax, do you have an answer to the question: what if it is the individuals choosing to smoke?
Also, what about folk working in the Gun business?
This could be on ad infinitum...what about alcohol, mcdonalds, hotels, coffee, tea, ...you name it, we could mention many commodities that could place the marketing/employee/employer as "guilty" I referred to the gun business, because this explicitly kills - but does the person press the trigger?
I don't have space to discuss ethics but in general I think people sense, on a subconscious level, what they can and should do ethically at a given time in their lives. This sense is their conscience. Most people repress this and I think repressing the conscience represses consciousness.
Awesome Video. Youtube can be a great asset for you. If you need any help getting your video exposed check out this site called sl8t.(com) It has really done wonders for me, I have built 3 channels up with videos at top in position, this is my forth channel I'm going to working on now.
Sorry for the parenthesis around the com, some reason Youtube will not let you give an actual address in a comment. Real weird. Have a Blessed day!
when u do evil , people send you vibration of curses even if they do not open your mouths and might even bless u due to their religion restriction . But trust me u r getting cursed .
his consciousness cleared to move on with better real decisions from a place that had him bound to representing a product and a company that brings harm to human life Once his mind.soul spirit and body were together his consciousness clearer making life affirming decisions with love. Much better!:)
this was the only job he could get at the time unaware of the facts he entered his job he may had to pay for medical bills although he has to make changes in his life he is free to make choices consciousness was at a higher level when he made the decision to move on and leave his job perhaps he did a better thing a donate to a Cancer Society and ride his bike or run for Cancer research guy
They don't care enough or they wouldn't get into the cigarette business to begin with. You're assuming "the cig marketer guy" cares more about the death he is causing compared to his massive pay check. People do evil things for money. Sad statement but true...especially as more time goes by I would imagine.
I think the cigarette marketer's innate nature is to care about other people. If he had to personally strangle someone each day for this money he probably wouldn't do it. Instead he is able to lie to himself because he distances himself from the consciousness of his victim and he represses his own consciousness.
I found out that people do not want to hear the truth. They just tell each other lies, trying to convince themselves what they are doing and thinking is correct.
To stop in dealing with delusions should not be our way of saying we are in "higher" consciousness. This is our basic goal, something everyone should be taught in school and practiced.
The very well known and much venerated Indian saint, Nisigardatta Maharaj, was the proprietor of a cigarette shop. Do you think he went home and thought "I kill people for a living." ???
Umm ok so the I guess every single business that makes fatty foods loaded with transfats, etc. should be grouped into the "killing people for a living".
Oh I agree they all should! It just seems that the tobacco industry gets the brunt of the "your killing people" deal when there are plenty of other businesses that do the same thing.
I love, love, LOVE Kripsy Kreme doughnuts but they are totally bad for you so they should be no different than cigarette companies if that idea of things that can kill you is to hold water.
Thanks for the new video, but things aren't so straightforward. I don't smoke cigarettes but, this spring, I'm smoking three mini cigars a day to help me lose some weight I put on over the winter. The weight loss is already helping reduce my hip pain, so I consider smoking the cigars to be healthy in the long run.
All freeing my higher consciousness did was give me an acute stress disorder, burnout and no ablilty to handle the frequent crises I'm going through. No end in sight and I don't know if I'm going to make it. I functioned better when I was in denial but Pandora's box, once opened, can not be closed as if nothing has happened.
One thing I didn't get a chance to cover is that it is impossible to change most things quickly if at all. I think people become stressed when they suddenly become aware of a lot and feel the need to immediately "fix" everything. I sort of went into this more in the vid "how to handle the truth"
You've just described cognitive dissonance. I think you've made a very good argument for why religion is bad for us. Cigarette making guy has to distract himself to escape his cognitive dissonance. Religious people do the same thing by actively denying evidence that goes against their cherished beliefs.
Irrational religious beliefs therefore hinder the path to 'higher consciousness'.
I totally agree - I think any dogmatic belief under the guise of religion, science, groupthink, etc. hinders higher consciousness. I think the best clue of clinging to a dogmatic belief is when a simple idea causes anger. You'll notice harmless ideas tend to make religious fundamentalists (and even some atheists) angry.

If you're buying cigarettes, aren't you killing yourself out of your own volition? Cigarette marketing guy is just taking advantage of people's own voluntary self-destruction. They're not really the ones doing the killing, it's you, the cigarette smoker.

They don't kill me because I have free will and I choose not to smoke. Smokers kill themselves not cigarette companies!

TheAttackRat 1 year ago
@TheAttackRat or you can take LSD. but try not to become some kind of spirituality freak.
Really, everything can be broken down to physics in the end, and the universe (at our size level) is completely determined. this does not conflict with consciousness one bit, and it is because the universe is determined that consciousness can arise. Also, one more point is that there is no intrinsic meaning to the universe except meaning that we give it ourselves. leave emotion out completely for the truth.

To me tobacco is a gift of God, and I do not believe that moderate and sensitive smoking of choice tobacco is killing anyone who truly seeks God´s kingdom. This video is about relative moral issues, not higher consciousness. To me higher consciousness is to know, among others, that behind human conscience is God´s spirit and God´s word.
mikilavush 1 year ago
I dont't think that higher consciousness and higher morale are the same , nor is feeling better about the world and yourself.Higher consciousness means more intelligence , you also precieve world better.Humans have limits , you can't develop 100x more intelligent people or even million times more intelligent people by meditation.
cyberdaemon 1 year ago
Cyberdaemon, shouldn't higher morale be a consequence of the higher consciousness? Makes sense to me.
Feeling better about the world and yourself - well, I know many that seem happy and don't really know what's going on around them. That would probably have more to do with emotions rather than consciousness.
And last, I think we are limited by time only (I don't mention disabilities here). Who knows how much would we develop if we could live longer?
Barbie20152009 1 year ago
@cyberdaemon I see your points, but consider that higher consciousness would bring about higher morals and higher morale (in the long term). Lorax2013 isnt talking about thought based intelligence when he refers to consciousness, or saying that meditation makes people "intelligent"

What is higher consciousness in a first place ? Because for me , higher consciousness means higher situational awarenss. And humans do have limits on that.

And now, fellow youtubers, let's go inside ourselves and examine our lives - every aspect of it - and determine how much conscious we are.
Barbie20152009 1 year ago
Poor cigaret marketer. You made him so miserable lorax. You didn't say anything about those who smoke. They choose to smoke, that's their decision to waste their health. What about their consciousness? Cigaret marketer as any other marketer just sells the product. We are free to buy the product or not tu buy it. I wouldn't blame the marketer here. We all have a consciousness, don't we?
Barbie20152009 1 year ago
@Barbie20152009 I think he would say that both are suppressing higher consciousness. He is referring to higher consciousness as awakened to reality.

redryan5048 2 years ago

Kinda like your cigarette-guy allowing higher consciousness thru finally...Thanks again!
sortashaman 2 years ago

EndDemocracy 2 years ago
I disagree that "cigarette guy" would be finding higher consciousness by finding a new career (regardless of whether or not it's consciously). Him finding higher consciousness would be realizing that human life is not sacred, overpopulation is the biggest problem facing the world at the moment and therefore morons choosing to voluntarily off themselves is a good thing.

boundtogetdown 2 years ago

Refreshingly sober.
This may be a can of super natural, quantum ......wow(?), but what are the thoughts on lucidity, when talking about innate awareness as consciousness (which I agree with), and higher consciousness. Certainly if you have experienced lucid dreaming, that is a fairly undeniable state of greater consciousness.
would like to read some opinions on this.
marsproject23 2 years ago 2
I have heard of an indian in the southern U.S. who believes he has achieved acts of lucidity and seeing the future. His example: staring at the palm of your hand every night until you can dream of this plam perfectly. Then you will recieve higher conciousness and be able to achieve lucidity or possibley see future events. Hopefully you have heard the same? If not look it up. I'm trying to study.. or better yet, re-acquire this knowledge.....
straightkickinitmain 2 years ago

I don't have space to discuss ethics but in general I think people sense, on a subconscious level, what they can and should do ethically at a given time in their lives. This sense is their conscience. Most people repress this and I think repressing the conscience represses consciousness.

They don't care enough or they wouldn't get into the cigarette business to begin with. You're assuming "the cig marketer guy" cares more about the death he is causing compared to his massive pay check. People do evil things for money. Sad statement but true...especially as more time goes by I would imagine.
Globalpack 2 years ago
I think the cigarette marketer's innate nature is to care about other people. If he had to personally strangle someone each day for this money he probably wouldn't do it. Instead he is able to lie to himself because he distances himself from the consciousness of his victim and he represses his own consciousness.

I found out that people do not want to hear the truth. They just tell each other lies, trying to convince themselves what they are doing and thinking is correct.
To stop in dealing with delusions should not be our way of saying we are in "higher" consciousness. This is our basic goal, something everyone should be taught in school and practiced.

I'd be interested to hear your view on irrational beliefs that people tend to posess about themeslves.
Can it be a good thing for a person to irrationally believe that they are the best at what they do if it motivates them to do the best they can?
