Does anyone know any solutions of reducing lag for this game..
Rig: AMD Phenom II X4 - 3.2 Ghz , 10GB Ram, 2X Geforce GTX 570's and its not my computer, alot of other people have good rigs and are still experiencing tremendous lagg even on single player. Please help.
@alphex1000 Hell yea lol. I go hunting and i have a 243 Win. Bolt Action Rifle, and i know how a real scope should look like and in CoD all they do is, you look threw the scope and the scope takes up the whole screen witch is just stupid (and that also happens in a lot of FPS) and all it does is zoom in the target without magnifacation. So its pretty much your whole screen zooming in with a crosshair. But this game does it right in everyway. All FPS need this Sniper Scope System. Specially BF3.

@knarkis90 it does have a CoD2 look to it, ill admit. But hear me out, the unreal engine now has everythign lets say the Cryengine 3 has. Sun ray tech, parrallax, HDR, etc etc...
that stuff was NOT in CoD2 - which makes the graphics in this game like.. boom :P

Going by graphics to dictate whether or not you're going to enjoy a game is just proof of lacking attention span. Gamers can't have fun unless it sparkles anymore. Game developers will have us simply point-and-click shooting for hours on their crappy shallow games as long as they build better engines or up the polygon count. Any 9 nine year old girl will be able to pick up a controller and kick ass at COD (but we're really already to that point).
poor graphics = not interesting. great graphics = really cool and realistic. graphics + poor programming/mechanics = a few years wait to see if the developers ever decide to get serious about the game. This one looks promising.

If you want nothing but pretty graphics to look at, go and watch a CGI movie like Avatar or Advent Children, when I see more Red Orchestra 2 gameplay I might consider buying it though It'd be nice if it was steam free.
What pisses me off these days isn't the graphics obsessed but more the way the shooters now are being all devolved to FPS/RPGs to compensate for game developers' lack of creativity. These kind of details is what should be done instead.

I don't know if I like the dial system... you get better at compensating by time... it's a skill you need to learn and that's what makes sniping so fun in games like Battlefield 2.
I just got the Beta! Yea the hardcore mode is good and realistic, the gameplay is good, But the graphics are TERRIBLE, I was never expecting a 2011 to have so bad graphics... (at max settings on a HD5970)

There is a realistic solution to the tendency of players want to migrate to the map edges and then trying to pick each other off. Running a shot clock is OK for a few particular types of battles, particularly pacific island assaults, but running a shot clock to keep players away for the board edges is not the way to go.

This has a more realistic taste to it, more of an authentic infantry feel to it. If you like the tactics part of BF and realism, I suggest this for you. This looks good, the scope system is amazing. The multiplayer will not be able to compete with Battelfield 3 though. I will buy this game alter on, but I'd rather see these guys create a modern shooter though. I got tired of going back to time and kicking Hitler's ass.

Iv shot thousands of rounds using differant scopes. I just looked through the pu scope used by the russsians in ww2. You are right, that reticle on the original scope was awfull (too thick) so your representation is accurate. I guess they did that to be able to see it in low light conditions. Aparently, Iv been spoiled by modern mildot reticles that are very thin and light up and glow in low light conditions.
they need to fix the reticle (crosshair) in that sniper rifle. Its allmost worthless because it is waaayyy to thick. Anyone who has ever even looked through a cheap scope knows they are never that thick simply because it covers too much of the target. in low light, that scope would be completely worthless and the original ww2 scope crosshairs looked nothing like that.

It looks more like you are looking through a score, bullshit. What scope are you looking through that you don't press your eye against the scope itself? They way they did it is neat, as in the effect it gives when you move the sights around, but you shouldn't have the ability to see the battlefield. It just looks stupid.
@EricCris10sen I know from being in the US army some people like me can keep both eyes open while still concentrating on the object or anything down range helping me be more aware and my eye is usually atleast one too two inches away from any scope ive ever used so i see your point but its not impossible.
@ManticSHadow Well as of a M68, I keep both eyes open. When I shot a couple rifles with actual scopes on them, I wouldn't keep both open. I'm not saying it's impossible, like you said, but it's difficult for most people to do that.
@EricCris10sen You ever heard of "dumb eye"? Thats what you get if you press your eye all the way into the sights on any rifle that has any power to speak of. It's called recoil and it's not your friend:)
@tommelom2 some rifles have barely and recoil because of the spring or air that is released, the .50 supposedly is supposed to have an enormous kick back, but when held right, it barely has any. But still has great power. You're right, some rifles you cannot bring your eye next to the lenses but also, it should blur the battlefield if making it appear on the screen. Some might say, it's just a game, but if they're trying to make it look realistic, then make it so.
@EricCris10sen You're right about modern rifles, but having fired a ww2 Mauser k98(non rechambered, still 7.92), I can tell you it kicks like a mule. I've never shot(or seen for that matter) a mousin nagat rifle, so I cant say anything on that. I just remember my army days 10 years ago. First day with the HK AG3(I'm Norwegian), and black eyes where all over the place. Mucho funny for us that didn't get it:D.
As for the game's realism, I guess they have to make compromises all over the place..

@spartacon5267 Well CoD is a twitch shooter at heart but it's not a good one. A good CoD player will get his ass handed to him in Quake or UT as they are much faster paced. Also the regenerating health + kill streak system promote camping. I don't hate the game or the people who enjoy it, but calling it a good game is just silly.

I've noticed that it's usually on other videos where people diss CoD, I don't see many people dissing games like RO or Battlefield or UT or Quake on CoD videos. To say it's a good game isn't silly, it depends on what games you like. I prefer modern warfare games over futuristic games like Quake.

If you want nothing but pretty graphics to look at, go and watch a CGI movie like Avatar or Advent Children, when I see more Red Orchestra 2 gameplay I might consider buying it though It'd be nice if it was steam free.
What pisses me off these days isn't the graphics obsessed but more the way the shooters now are being all devolved to FPS/RPGs to compensate for game developers' lack of creativity. These kind of details is what should be done instead.

I don't know if I like the dial system... you get better at compensating by time... it's a skill you need to learn and that's what makes sniping so fun in games like Battlefield 2.

I just got the Beta! Yea the hardcore mode is good and realistic, the gameplay is good, But the graphics are TERRIBLE, I was never expecting a 2011 to have so bad graphics... (at max settings on a HD5970)
Anyway i still like the game, its pretty cool :)

But is the game not the card... i think they will fix the FPS issues, its still a Beta!

There is a realistic solution to the tendency of players want to migrate to the map edges and then trying to pick each other off. Running a shot clock is OK for a few particular types of battles, particularly pacific island assaults, but running a shot clock to keep players away for the board edges is not the way to go.

This has a more realistic taste to it, more of an authentic infantry feel to it. If you like the tactics part of BF and realism, I suggest this for you. This looks good, the scope system is amazing. The multiplayer will not be able to compete with Battelfield 3 though. I will buy this game alter on, but I'd rather see these guys create a modern shooter though. I got tired of going back to time and kicking Hitler's ass.
Oh and... COD is a piece of shit. Perks define your outcome, not skill.

Iv shot thousands of rounds using differant scopes. I just looked through the pu scope used by the russsians in ww2. You are right, that reticle on the original scope was awfull (too thick) so your representation is accurate. I guess they did that to be able to see it in low light conditions. Aparently, Iv been spoiled by modern mildot reticles that are very thin and light up and glow in low light conditions.

they need to fix the reticle (crosshair) in that sniper rifle. Its allmost worthless because it is waaayyy to thick. Anyone who has ever even looked through a cheap scope knows they are never that thick simply because it covers too much of the target. in low light, that scope would be completely worthless and the original ww2 scope crosshairs looked nothing like that.

It looks more like you are looking through a score, bullshit. What scope are you looking through that you don't press your eye against the scope itself? They way they did it is neat, as in the effect it gives when you move the sights around, but you shouldn't have the ability to see the battlefield. It just looks stupid.

@EricCris10sen I know from being in the US army some people like me can keep both eyes open while still concentrating on the object or anything down range helping me be more aware and my eye is usually atleast one too two inches away from any scope ive ever used so i see your point but its not impossible.

@ManticSHadow Well as of a M68, I keep both eyes open. When I shot a couple rifles with actual scopes on them, I wouldn't keep both open. I'm not saying it's impossible, like you said, but it's difficult for most people to do that.

@tommelom2 some rifles have barely and recoil because of the spring or air that is released, the .50 supposedly is supposed to have an enormous kick back, but when held right, it barely has any. But still has great power. You're right, some rifles you cannot bring your eye next to the lenses but also, it should blur the battlefield if making it appear on the screen. Some might say, it's just a game, but if they're trying to make it look realistic, then make it so.

@EricCris10sen You're right about modern rifles, but having fired a ww2 Mauser k98(non rechambered, still 7.92), I can tell you it kicks like a mule. I've never shot(or seen for that matter) a mousin nagat rifle, so I cant say anything on that. I just remember my army days 10 years ago. First day with the HK AG3(I'm Norwegian), and black eyes where all over the place. Mucho funny for us that didn't get it:D.
As for the game's realism, I guess they have to make compromises all over the place..

@spartacon5267 Well CoD is a twitch shooter at heart but it's not a good one. A good CoD player will get his ass handed to him in Quake or UT as they are much faster paced. Also the regenerating health + kill streak system promote camping. I don't hate the game or the people who enjoy it, but calling it a good game is just silly.

I've noticed that it's usually on other videos where people diss CoD, I don't see many people dissing games like RO or Battlefield or UT or Quake on CoD videos. To say it's a good game isn't silly, it depends on what games you like. I prefer modern warfare games over futuristic games like Quake.
