Basically what Google is doing is they're designing the entire site from the paying customer's point of view instead of the watcher's. All these changes are to make sponsored videos get more attention from viewers by removing features that force uploaders to compete for views. They know the new homepage is inferior, and that's okay with them because they want it to be inferior. They make more money when sponsored videos get more attention as opposed to indie videos.

I've been on Youtube for many years and I may not leave Youtube but the homepage sucks. I am however boycotting participating with Youtube by not commenting on videos I watch. I am also going to use Firefox bookmarks to favourite the videos I like and not use Youtubes interface. Overall, I think Youtube should give us the options as to what modules we would like to see or not on the homepage and not bully us with the habits of a load of insignificant crap from other users. Those comments should be spammed or thumbed down to death.

I almost don't care what they do to the homepage and channel pages because the vast majority of my time is in the /subscriptions page, which is second only to the search result pages. The homepage, whenever I'm presented with it, is only a means of getting to the /subscriptions page. So I really don't know what the original appeal of the homepage was, and I'm surprised anyone really used it.
The Like/Dislike system, I can live with. I've gotten used to it.

If you scroll to the bottom of this page, you will see blue text that says "Press & Blogs". Hit that.
On the next page, there will be blue text on the left hand side that says "YouTube Blog". Hit that.
Scroll down to the "New YouTube homepage launches to all users" article. Click on that, and scroll all the way down the page to write your comment to the YouTube developers expressing your hatred towards the new layout.
Please thumbs this up so we can convince them change it to the old layout.
The only way YouTube will listen to us is if we stop using it, or else they're gonna keep making these horrible changes and walk all over us. We all need to boycott. I went into the Learn More section (I think) and it was written they made a survey or something like that, and people responded that they preferred this new version of youtube. I don't know if that's true, but I doubt it. After all, they could say whatever lie they want. I think you're right about that financial ends of things, but I've yet to get what it is! I actually like it I live being able to see all the videos that were uploaded instead of 6 or 8 (I cant remember) because if I wanted to see the other videos uploaded that day besides the first 6 or 8 I would have to click on one for it to go away and then maybe I would want to watch those videos later so I would either have to bookmark it of fav it this is a lot more convenient in my opinion

I've been on Youtube for many years and I may not leave Youtube but the homepage sucks. I am however boycotting participating with Youtube by not commenting on videos I watch. I am also going to use Firefox bookmarks to favourite the videos I like and not use Youtubes interface. Overall, I think Youtube should give us the options as to what modules we would like to see or not on the homepage and not bully us with the habits of a load of insignificant crap from other users. Your loss Youtube!

I want what YT was before 2008. Everything was better like 5 star ratings. If I'm neutral, I'll rate 3 stars instead trolling a 1 star. Now every popular video spawns comments like "x people dislike", "...are from y", etc even when fewer than a thousand votes and view count is like 50k. All it does is whoring like +20 ratings. Those comments should be spammed or thumbed down to death.

I almost don't care what they do to the homepage and channel pages because the vast majority of my time is in the /subscriptions page, which is second only to the search result pages. The homepage, whenever I'm presented with it, is only a means of getting to the /subscriptions page. So I really don't know what the original appeal of the homepage was, and I'm surprised anyone really used it.

If you scroll to the bottom of this page, you will see blue text that says "Press & Blogs". Hit that.
On the next page, there will be blue text on the left hand side that says "YouTube Blog". Hit that.
Scroll down to the "New YouTube homepage launches to all users" article. Click on that, and scroll all the way down the page to write your comment to the YouTube developers expressing your hatred towards the new layout.
Please thumbs this up so we can convince them change it to the old layout.

The only way YouTube will listen to us is if we stop using it, or else they're gonna keep making these horrible changes and walk all over us. We all need to boycott. Think of the impact we could make if we all banned together as a community to show YT we're serious this time. Me and some others are willing to, but we need the support of everyone. God I hate the new homepage so much. Everything's so cluttered, it's like the house of an old shut in. Also, I only care about uploads, and bulletins of my subscriptions but now I have to sift through all the favs, likes, and recommended shit by youtube that plagues that front page. Why wouldn't they give you the exclude option like before? This is seriously turning me off youtube. It's no longer the site I look forward to visiting every morning. And I seem to notice that it's a trend nowadays for huge internet sites to keep changing their homepage and accessibility settings for no apparent reason. There's a trend, and there's a reason for this crappy changes...it's just like fucking facebook (I don't use it anymore). Also MSN, that I don't use anymore, has its new 2011 version which not only didn't add anything new, but it also took away things that we could do before. For example, you can't edit your nickname anymore. What the fuck..

I went into the Learn More section (I think) and it was written they made a survey or something like that, and people responded that they preferred this new version of youtube. I don't know if that's true, but I doubt it. After all, they could say whatever lie they want. I think you're right about that financial ends of things, but I've yet to get what it is! Bottom line, this new channel design fucking sucks balls (I don't talk like that usually)

I actually like it I live being able to see all the videos that were uploaded instead of 6 or 8 (I cant remember) because if I wanted to see the other videos uploaded that day besides the first 6 or 8 I would have to click on one for it to go away and then maybe I would want to watch those videos later so I would either have to bookmark it of fav it this is a lot more convenient in my opinion

I clicked their handy little x's to delete the videos I've already seen and GUESS WHAT! When I came back later today, they had all come back... waiting for me like zombies the will NEVER DIE!
Back when they did the beta for this, I switched over to check it out. I posted this very glitch in their feedback form and GUESS WHAT! It's still there... fuck you, youtube.
