Thanks for uploading this video. I went to london a few months ago to see the red carpet event of the alice in wonderland premiere and when we went to the natural history mueseum that room was shut - i could only catch a glimse of it's head and the elephant through the key hole (yeah i know) but now i can see it - YAY!
OK, if I ever saw one in person, I'd poop for sure. I agree with dumoulin11 about the eyes. Here in NYC, we have a 94-foot reproduction of a blue whale hanging from the ceiling in the Ocean Life room. Yes, you read that right, HANGING FROM THE CEILING. I had no fear of it when I was a child, but it petrifies me to such an extent that, as a 42 year old, I can no longer walk directly underneath. that damned thing gives me the willies.
it's really ineresting to see the positionng of the eyes, and how they probably allow the whale to see straight ahead of itself despite what one might think when one sees the animal from profile. Thanks for this.
whoan that is a HUGE whale imagine that creature, it's the biggest yet the most peaceful and least likely to try to attack you, they are great creatures just way too big, I heard before there used to be sharks called megalodons that size.. WOA!
haha yeah but did you know there used to be sharks that size in the dinosaur period, it would scare the heck out of me if i saw a stranded shark that big or worse a huge shark coming out of the water. =0
I think its lovely that you comment..shows that you care about your posts. The Blue Whale has always been my favourite museum piece...it's truly spectacular to view.
Would you stop comment every singel post in your video? It's kind of a stupid ... ok, i see you realy are impressed, but please, leave the people comment in free ... :) It's pretty cool in there .. Ive like to go again .. but you should see the biggest aqarium in the world, Georgia.
Dogcapper7, that's totally ridiculous what you said. Giving people the courtesy of a reply is only natural and in no way reduces their freedom to comment. Some years ago people accused content providers who answered their comments of driving up the comment number, but that accusation was taken away when they stopped counting the channel owner's comments in the number. Nowadays it is only friendliness that makes the video owner reply, but I see that is wasted on some people!
I remember going there years ago, was young and didn't really have a clue but was just amazed at the size of that model of the blue whale. Would love to back there.
Beautiful exhibit. I saw a similar blue whale model at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C. over 25 years ago and I know that seeing this up close is an impressive sight. I hope to "cross the pond" one day and see this in person.
yegh, its huge, ive looked it up loads, its heart is the size of a car, its veins are so big a human being can swim though them, its tail is the lengh of a airfracts wing. its fucking huge !!!!!!!
Many kind thanks for posting this video, it literally took ny breath away, i can't wait to see it in person.
I had the pleasure of seeing a pilot whale whilst diving. At eye level in it's natural habitat it was a truly humbling yet frightning experience, one can only imagine what it must be like to witness a living Blue Whale in person.
I was diving in the gulf of mexico and this female pilot whale swam up behind me, as i turned round it was about 10 ft from me!!!! Although they feed on crill( i think) i was quick to ascend as i'd seen a video of a pilot dragging a female diver into the depths!!
hi, i went to this place last tuesday, its awsome, that blue whale looks bigger when ur their, i also went to the science musium, i thought it was a bit of a let down, but anyway thanks 4 putin this on m8, great video
Thanks for posting this! It must have been quite literally breathtaking to walk in and see this in person. It's easy to see an image of a big Blue anytime, but presented w/something to give it scale is really awe inspiring. Thanks again!
The blue whale is amazing-I went to the Natural History museum when I was really young and that's the part I remember best. Did there used to be a diver near its eye to show the size of humans in comparison? It was ages ago so I can't really remember-I really want to go there again now! Thanks for uploading this. :o)
Great vid. I remember going to museum when I was a kid and remember seeing the blue whale structure. It overwhelmed me then and still does today. Awesome
Thanks, Andy! He does make good music and we are grateful! The science museum is on my list of places to do on a rainy day, we went to the V&A a couple of weeks ago and, although it was great it was too dark to film inside. I want to see the mummys at the British Museum too, have you been there?
