I like to get ionic boots then rush my frozen mallet for some cc ad and health. Then i get a hextec revolver for spellvamp and then get warmogs. After that i finish my gunblade. I finish off with will of the ancients and a rabadons. This build makes you a tanky burster that is a brick in lane due to all of the spellvamp amd health regen.

I don't like Warmog's on Mord anymore. Since his shield nerfs, your spells really need to have more AP behind them to generate significant shield so that it doesn't go bye-bye with the first attack. Also, Mejai's is kind of a risky item to have on any champ, although I've seen it used really well too so the Soulstealer depends on the player. However, spell vamp items like Hextech Gunblade and Will of the Ancients are GREAT on Mord.

I think that is the best way to to play Mord now. A Warmog's armor Mordekaiser was perfectly viable BEFORE the nerfs. The way Mord is now I go straight AP; I ALWAYS go WoTA, Sorcerer's Shoes, Rylai's Crystal Scepter. After that I consider whether tankiness or AP is the way to go.

creeping death is not a debuff to anybody hit by it, it is a magic and armor buff for the target it is placed on. Force of Nature, Sorc Boots, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Randuin's Omen, Will of the Ancients, Abyssal Scepter is my build. i also use spell vamp quints for 6% more at start.

WoTA is a really nice item to get for Mord. I build it first whenever I play Mord. WoTA actually gives more Spell Vamp and Ability Power for Mord, which is what Mord needs both to sustain himself and generate shield.

Hey why not put put 9 greater seals of regen for morde in the runes. I do that personally and I think this is best for the beginn ( for example you r not oblige to take regrowth pendant at the beginning but maybe boots or dorian shield) but awsome guide, it helped me alot

hextech is basically viable no matter what spec considering how much regen you get from it considering morde is such an offensive tank and also his q scales off of ad really well now and that works wonders in a single target q. in a normal game it can easily top your shield completely

This was a very nice guide, and I think I'll try out this build in the future!

However, I have two questions:

1) What ORDER did you get your masteries in? Offense first, then defense, then utility? Alternating between the three?

2) If you're laning with Morde and you're not confident/good enough to go by yourself, what other champions make excellent support teammates for Morde?

@mouthofsauron328 1. If you're not confident enough to solo-lane you can go offensive first, after that it's all up to you. Personally I'm using the 10/0/20 build, avoiding all mana-based boost in utility.

2. Mordekaiser is good with any ranged champion with a stun and/or slow, allowing you to keep chasing and secure kills. You should avoid laning with snowball-champions like Veigar, Nasus and/or Sion since you're the best pusher in the game and will most likely get all of the last hits.

@nitjacka 2. continues: Although I know laning with a carry is not optimal in any way (since it'll most likely be a carry to be ranged and have stuns or slows), but it's your best friend for easy kills and will sometimes be worth it. But in most cases, have the carry in bot-lane with a support.

Alistar, Blitz, Singed or Xin are nice to accompany you too, but as Morde you souldn't have any troubles solo-laning.

This patch they nerfed Morde's Iron Man! I mean, he's still undoubtedly a badass, but you really have to be more careful now especially in early-game, since it's half shield regen on minions (and that was the ideal target to get shield on).

@sixsixsik A lot of the negativity against warmog's was in the past. It's totally worth getting to everyone's standards. Check the item value spreadsheet on the general discussion, it's very popular and highly sanctioned. The fact that warmogs stacks is incentive to get it early on and not as a last item, that's just dumb.

This is a great guide for tank Morde, but the problem is that Morde isn't a tank. He's a beefy mage/off tank. He can take a lot of damage, but he shouldn't be building pure damage or pure tank. This is a wonderful beginner's guide though.
