@dkfa there are seatbelts for dogs, there are also crates for dogs that can be strapped into the seat, this is not just for getting pulled over, but if your in an accident it protects the dog from being flown all around the car and hurting itself or others. I have never been in that situation so I cannot say how I would react but I can guarantee you the dog would have been a priority for one of my officers on the scene when the situation was under control. There are better ways to take care of that but keep in mind if the officer used anything on that duty belt it could have been lethal for the dog. The dog could have died with OC, Tazer or Baton too.

I have never been in that situation so I cannot say how I would react but I can guarantee you the dog would have been a priority for one of my officers on the scene when the situation was under control. There are better ways to take care of that but keep in mind if the officer used anything on that duty belt it could have been lethal for the dog. The dog could have died with OC, Tazer or Baton too.

Had this been my family, ordered out of the car like criminals and then handcuffed to watch our dog shot with a shotgun by a sissy-assed cop, everyone of those officers would spend the rest of their careers worrying about their family especially Eric Hall. I usually side with law enforcement, but this is sickening. I know this happened a while back, but as of today I will research everything about that department, and Eric Hall so if another incident like this happens,1/2 of legal work is done

The officer who shot this dog was far from blamless_ the police/state troopers caused all that trouble-and all the dog did was join in the furore created, the entire incident was an attack on an innocent family, and a completely innocent dog paid for police craziness with his/her life. There was only one dangerous animal in that situation, the rotten b----d who shot the dog! Most likely he was only a hair'sbreadth from shooting the people, but knew he couldn't get away with that! Only the dog!

You'd think someone trained in violent situations would be able to handle a small dog, how cowardly to reach immediatley for a shotgun. If it's a family, you can also bet there's kids there. I couldn't imagine any parent being able to explain to their kid why their beloved dog had it's brains blown out by a police officer, the people who are supposed to protect them.

Oh really? They should train their dog to not defend his owners when people are putting them in danger? Because I think the cops who shot the dog should be shot in the face. The other cops who kept calm and did their job properly don't deserve people thinking they're idiots, but it's clear that most cops are, what do you expect?
