  • keep it up , indian traceurs

  • Narayan's technique is better than Nimit's. He should drive his knees up fast, keeping his feet close to gain an inch or two.

  • Arko,

Their techniques are dependent on their individual anthropomety. Nirmit's lower limbs are longer than the rest of us, his femur is also longer than normal. Which is why he cannot keep his legs adducted while tucking or they will crash into the wall.

This is also why taller people in general are not well-suited to the kind of activities involved in sports like Parkour or Gymnastics.

  • @parkourmumbai Why can't taller people just start the jump a little away from the wall? That wont ruin their range because everything would be proportional.

  • I just let them find their own comfort zone.

Besides, a high box jump from further behind is not really feasible - more distance to travel in front. Try doing it sometime and see.

  • @parkourmumbai Yeah but I'm talking about tall people. Their larger size and strength would compensate for the increased distance in front. (Imagine this video scaled up by 10% of it's original size).

I like the fact that you let them find their own comfort zone.

  • @parkourmumbai

there's a lot of really talented tall traceurs though, although not so many tall gymnasts

i guess there's advantages and disadvantages that come with every human body

  • Beautiful bro... Indian here.

Sharing this, this was just brilliant. I hope you get the WR. I'm rooting for you!

  • Hanuman the Bajrang Bali no doubt he will break the records. Good going everyone. Nirmit will also make it soon! Now i also want to try! :P

  • Shivam,

For ordinary mortals like us who also want to give it a try I have just one piece of advice -

    SQUAT!!

    :D

  • @parkourmumbai BW or W?

  • Shivam,

There are stupid questions, then there are stupider questions, and then there are questions like yours above. ;) :P

  • @parkourmumbai As you said Squatting will improve the box jumps for people like us but you did not clarify which Body Weight which i do or Weighted which i've never tried :P Now its a simple question from my side as i have not started weight training and you know that so i thought for me you are referring to Body Weight ones as we have not done our weight training session :P

  • Dude, you don't have to be so pedantic every time.

My stance on this is PRETTY well known all over and applies to EVERYONE - squat 1.5-1.75 times your bodyweight, then talk. I don't even count bodyweight-only squats as an exercise in the first place, it doesn't exist for me, just like Smith Machines don't exist for me. So it's a no-question. Doesn't matter if a person has started squatting with weight or not.

  • And my first answer above was a general statement directed to everyone, not just you, even though I directly addressed you in the reply.

  • @parkourmumbai Ohkay so from now onwards i will take your Squatting as Weighted (specifically 1.5-1.75 of BW) ones only by default :P

  • Zigackly my friend, zigackly.
