@ericlee303 AWESOME! I had most of the Fire by Nite videos (still do), and when they came out with back issue videos, I wanted to get them all, but didn't, and was later sorry, as they didn't offer them again after that. I remember seeing the guy who played "Word Nerd" and "Ty" ("in Family First") after a concert in Detroit. He was like, "Yep...that was me..." He was really cool and down to earth. I miss Idle Cure also...
I liked this band back in high school and stilldo. Its awesome that Ken has began teaching others how to use their voices better.Best cd/Shout-in your face!!!!
So awesome Ken Tamplin went on after the laundry detergent "Shout" sued the Christian band for using the same name. I suppose it was all good timing because the hair band generation was fading anyhow.
Just wanting to find out if anyone knows whtat happened to Scarlet Red the band. I loved their music and the song they sing called "Why" Have they any video clips as well, if so can some post them on here for me plase.
Wow!! I thought I was the only one who bought that tape. I looked scarlet red up a few months ago and that one album appears to be the only one they ever made. I really loved that song "Why" as well. I actually think its on youtube. I remember finding it somewhere. Im sure if you dig a little you'll find it. Good luck!!
Thanks for answering. I was told by some friends who I meet up at Jesus People USA that they only did one ablum and after that they broke up. Not sure if that is true or not.
my blessings to Shout a great christain metal rock band. i'm going to spread the word of you guys because this is some of the best music i've ever heard. All hail Shout
As Christian rock bands go, these guys were extremely underrated. They wrote extremely solid rock songs, had the vocals and the playing prowess to compete with secular bands. It's too bad they weren't more popular.
This video is what was so great about the 80's. Guys with flair: big hair, big clothes, playing on a vast stage and backed up with real musicianship.
Larger than life. Which is what rock stars should be. Then the 90's hit and everyone thought it was cheesy so decided to dress like 15 yr olds, stand motionless, with NO flair or showmanship at all. Just acting & looking (and being) like any guy off the street.
And that was cool? Fuck that! Gimme rock stars that looked, acted & played like stars!
you are so right mate - these were the real stars and sold in the bucket load as well espicailly in the states - style and substance - real rock starts and great musicians
Wow! That's pretty cool! What's he doing these days?
I'm Mr. Tamplin's #1 fan here in Joliet, Ill-annoy. Midwest wasteland. (I was born in California....my dad was in the Navy-transfered to Great Lakes and retired here...grrr...)
hi thank for your answer Michelle.. I'm Mic from Italy I love christian rock and Tamplin.. My fave band though is FM uk with Steve Overland! Strange that a girl listen to christian metal ! What Tamplin albums have u got?
Pretty much all of them. You can download them for free at his website, however, he requests that you donate to one of the listed charities. I love his diversity in music, not just rock but a variety of genres. Nice to meet you!
Great song, reminds me of when I was a teenager (in the 80s!) going to youth group, Youth America, Fire by Nite, etc....

Back in the day the 90s. I heard he was Sammy Hagars cousin. Great band! I think he was in a group called Mastedon and he also did solo stuff.
herrera8769 1 year ago
@herrera8769 Ken was in a group named Magdallan with Lanny Cordolla. Mastedon was another Christian rock group with John Elefante on vocals.
Cheers.
