Anyone here knowledgeable enough to mention which Monome app Brian was using? He used it to record a bar of music and then have the Monome playback a couple of bars, but with the ability to play any section at any time.
@ImSneakyPete Depends what use you put it to. Hardest thing is setting it up, for the app & program you want to interface with your unit. Then you can up the difficulty by trying to make a better app than those currently out there & then share it with the Monome community.
the dude seemed kinda pretentious at first but but nice tunes and being able to build ur own monome without any electrical engineering skills is fukin pro
kudos, got any other vids wit that dude on the monome?
So do you programme different sounds in to each square using a basic piece of software? I really want one but reckon I would be too stupid to work it. Im a bit of a caveman.
people write hundreds of programs for the Monome that you can install and run to get the Monome to do a million different things as a midi device. If you want to map a single sample to each button then take your time, I prefer the software.:)
it's totally open. So what each button does is totally up to you and the software you are using. there are a ton of software options, but it has a bit of a learning curve.
@eteokles3 hey, i didn't even realize i made that comment. it's a pretty lame comment! weird 7 liked it..... anyway, how is it not processing midi? isn't it processing audio delivered in like midi packets? or is it, like max buffershuffler, actually working with the audio? i'm dumb about these things
i have the same mouse as him

It's so amazing. I saw Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) use one I think on stage recently and was just floored by what he could do.

Hi bro, we only can use the monome with mac? or notebook 2?
dfrequency 2 years ago
i use mine with a macbook but it also runs on windows, e.g. the software you´d need is MAX/MSP (Runtime) for instance.
