This is a pretty good effort. Ingraining a sense of swing, jazz articulation, note choice and general smooth line work takes years, and the best way to do so is to be playing regularly with musicians more advanced their yourself.
I'm sure you're aware of Turtle Island String Quartet, especially their Coltrane tribute album which completely blew my mind on horn-like violin playing.
I play jazz violin and I respect that you're trying to learn from the greats, and good job transcribing the solo, but to be honest... you play too classically! I would suggest that you need to work on not just the notes but having the same articulation as a brass player.
I haven't uploaded anything for a while but will try to get back on track. I'm also thinking about uploading PDFs of the transcriptions. Thank you all for your support!
Again from Brazil. I'm violinist and due to your post I decided to learn this muisic. I learned up to 1:09 and I know from this part it comes the hard ones. But I know I will complete it and that is cause your exemple. I'd love you keep posting more, please. And thank you again.
nice you follow the trumpet very well. make it your own and play off the melody and do harmony with some finger slides up or down to have some style. Almost like co lead feel. I tried it on my violin it was fun. Your intonation was right on.
it looks like you are miming it.......a Milli Vinilli version.

Yes - I know he is a trumpet player. But I'm a violinist interested in the sound of the trumpet.
