What in the world does "basically new" mean? There's new and there's used, or what the car dealers like to call "previously owned". What I normally refer to as "recently discarded". LOL!
For the two that asked what size and what's that sound.
The ETX 90 is a 90mm telescope. The OTA is great, the mount needs a lot of improvement. It's not as smooth as the LX200 or LX400 models - but for the price what do you expect.
The sound? Those are the DC motors that drive the scope around. They're fairly geared down so there is a bit more noise than just the motor itself. My LX200 10" and 12" sounds pretty much like that.
that stinks
