You should get the Dean Edge-09. My next bass is going to be a Black 5 String Traben Array Bass. This bass is so sick and has a great tone. I think that the three best bassists are Michael "Flea" Balzary, Les Claypool, and Victor Wooten. They are gods.
I have only been playing bass for a few months now, so I'm far from great at it, but what I can tell you is that bass is very fun and although guitar is harder, bass can be difficult. If I were you I would purchase a nice starter bass kit. I recommend the Dean Edge-09 bass starter kit that includes a four string bass, strap, 10 watt amp, tuner, 6 foot cord, 3 picks, and a gig bag. Overall, it's a really good starter kit which is why I bought it. The kit is about $200. It's well worth the buy.
Guitar is harder to learn quickly, but much harder to master. Bass can just cover so much because of the different types of styles of plucking, and playing.
NICE SHORTS!

If you stand up it would help a lot, especially when you go to change frets quickly...

I would say guitar and bass are about equal in difficulty.

Bass is alot easier and u have a more relaxed feeling when u play depending on the bass u buy

Depends on what you are playing. It used to be that bass was considered harder than guitar, because bass was moar prominent.
