  • What the hell you doing on the fucking roof!?

  • I am a professional storm spotter anytime you see a greenish tint to the sky like you filmed here that usually means a severe microburst or tornado quite rare to see in Brooklyn but as you seen it can happen.

  • Wow, that's Awesome!! Good catch man!

  • Some comments below are unjustified and harsh and those people need to get a grip! I think it's a great video - it may not show an actual tornado but it really captures that wonderful build up when a storm rolls in, I love that feeling and it was pretty dramatic, better than any storms we get in the UK, that's for sure. Thanks for sharing this video, lovely quality too! Keep up the good work :)

  • YYYEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHH MAAAAAAAAAAAN WWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW GET READY TO GET HIT BY THAT STORM AND IT WILL BE AMAZING THE WAY UR GUNNA BE BLOWN AWAYY.

  • It wasn't natural, as the guy filming says. 70mph + winds reported in North Queens. I was in my car in front of the house when it hit. Stayed put till a nearby lightning strike lifted my car off the ground and my ears popped. That's when shit got tight. After watching two trees fall and wind gusts shifting across all points of the compass, I backed the car up and got to a tree free zone till the storm passed. I counted no less than 25 downed trees in a four block radius afterwards.

  • @AdognamedOp You are a weakling new yorker. There isnt even a wall cloud. It wasnt even a microburst much less a tornado. It was just a gust front.

  • @SupremeAmerican And you're a dumb, flyover country dickhead. The storm was classified as a tornado. Just because there was no visible funnel cloud does not mean it wasn't a tornado.

  • @AdognamedOp Arent you the smart puppy. I'm only a meteorologist. And i only know that there was no tornadic signature on radar that day in that location. please. believe urself and not me. continue.

  • @SupremeAmerican if you where a meterorologist whye the fuck are you entertaining what i can see as nothing more then a childish converation. please what agency do you work for id love to report you.

  • @SupremeAmerican your full of horse shit your a meteorologist as a local meteorologist classified this as a microburst

  • @ShadowCompanySW It's not a tornado. I know this makes you angry but please take your tempertantrum and display it like a maniac for someone who really cares. May i suggest... your mother?

  • This really is the best video. This is the only video where you see the structure of the storm, and where it really looks like a tornado as opposed to hard rain or mist.

  • Make your house round like those water towers the tornado cannot grab anything because it will not get destroyed

  • When the sky turns green..RUN

  • @stangization

    Sky green is severe storm.

  • I heard the safest place during a tornado is on a rooftop.

  • And yet, the CD's stayed firmly sitting on the window ledge.

  • But there wasn't really a tornado? Just looked like a thunderstorm.

  • This is a summer day in Scotland :s

  • holy sheit!!

  • woah!!!! the way you captured the wall coming towards you was unbelievable!!! Good thing you took shelter, you would have been blown away!

  • shit i was in park slope bklyn we got hit worse my back yard was destroyed 100 yr old trees uprooted so it was a tornado

  • A Micro Burst is very destructive and can spawn several tornadoes I was in one east of lake Ontario in 95. There was wide spread damage and no electric for 5 days. It effected the whole area by the lake. I had to drive home in it, it was very frightening.

  • Can someone tell me y the sky was green

  • @mysuperliam Hail shafts or very heavy rain accompanied with hail tinges the sky color to give that greenish appearance

  • Is it weird if I like tornadoes? I wanna see one soooi bad but i live in michigan so they dont come around often. ;(

  • @SammiGurl123456789 trust me.... i used to want to see one to til a funnel cloud appered above my house. then i started panicking

  • @SammiGurl123456789 I was working in lake orion mich. 8 or 9 years ago,and we got hit my a tornado.

  • Trees were landomh amnd crushing on peoples cars i know

  • I love it like crazy

  • looks like a very powerfull squall line...

  • Look at that green sky, you should of went inside.

  • @DanKam92 I'm from Brooklyn. Wer'e pretty blonde about what green clouds are over here. We rarely get tornados. I missed being caught outside by 5 minutes. It was'nt until a few months later did I know that green clouds mean a tornado is coming. I still shudder when I think about it. I looked out the window and saw the rain was horizontal. (still shuddering)

  • @Purple558

green clouds typically means a heavy hail producing storm. the same physic's that produce hail, can also form tornadoes. however just because there is green tinted clouds, and hail. does not mean there will always be a tornado.

honestly i'm just surprised that everyone that has posted a video of themselves filming this storm on their roof did not get struck by lightning.

  • @slimj091 I guess they re daredevils!

  • scary stuff!

  • i knw they aint on the top of a building why this is happening??? OMG

  • How is this a micro burst? All I see is a rainwrapped tornado.

  • @emilyisatexasgirl no thats a microburst a tornado RARELY gets anywhere near that width.

  • Pretty impressive microburst!

  • Thumbs up if this guy sounds a little like John Grogan from Marley & Me

  • 0:30

i swear i seen those exact same skyscrapers in chicago (a city that sees ALOT more twisters, derecheos and viloent severe microbursts than NYC).

  • except for the weird distortion of the video, it looks pretty intense.

  • This is a MicroBurst.

  • /watch?v=m50n4hqx1Ho

  • Great footage! Ive seen both micro bursts and f-4 tornadoes! This was a micro burst. Which can cause allot of extensive damage . Again great footage. Thanks for posting!

  • We get storms like this all the time here in Minnesota, you guys are very luck it wasn't very big, it could have been very bad.

  • thats the answered of GOD . Thank God They dont burn the Koran.

If they burned maybe God will let no stone of the other

  • @remuscha what are you talking about? this happened before the guy was going to burn it.

  • The rooftop is the worst place to be in a tornado or severe storm.

  • we heard about the bad tornado storm that hit new york thats the affect huh!!! awesome footage dude.....wow!!!!

chicago (hegewisch south side) got hit with a microburst........unlike of us to have storms like that here..........pretty crazy

  • Great footage!! That sucker moved pretty fast! If you thought that was impressive, you should come to North Texas in May!

  • Awesome footage!

  • I was on the D train at Bay 50th stop when it hit. The clouds started moving so fast I thought we were being hit by hurricane Igor. The train was stuck for 40 mins due to trees falling on the track at 9th ave.. Great footage!!!!

  • Nice shot of the oncoming shelf cloud.

  • WOW. Nice work with the camera and keeping your heads together. But you didn't see trees flying. Good for you.

  • thank god i live in canada about 7 hours north of there..no tornadoes here....yet.....gd global warming

  • I was sitting on the George Washington Bridge when this storm hit us. Where is the bridge compared to your aim of the storm? The cool, yet scary part was feeling the bridge shake.

  • AWESOME footage of the storm! Incredible how powerful mother nature can be!

  • GOOD THING I WAS ON LONG ISLAND SWEET !!!!! XDDDD GO WEATHER!!!!

  • Wow.....Thank God I was north of the storm in manhattan, but I still felt it. Check out my footage....

  • Nasty storm. mother nature is amazing.

  • You got lucky dude. That Tornado was probably pretty close to you. That green color you saw is what is called Tornadic which means the conditions were right for a tornado to form. You got lucky.....

  • @luvswrestling1 I'm not exactly sure, but I'm pretty sure the green is formed from the failing hail. But yes, that is a Tornadic sign, indicating a tornado close by. I've seen it a few times lol its rather creepy, but I love it!
