i love how they suggest the captain was selling out wholly, at the same time they show him rocking a Che shirt. infiltrate the crapatalist system. This man was a true freedoom fighter in his own solipsistic manner.

There's a very sad story about FZ being quite nasty to Don as late as 1984 when the latter was asking the other for the original tapes for the Bat Chain Puller sessions.FZ suppodedly asked for a lot of money to turn over the tapes, money Don didn't have.He certainly wasn't that hot in the arts millieu at that point,so Don had to leave without mission being acomplished. This was supposed to be a buddy!Anyway, they made up before FZ died. But still, all we get from this,is the remake and the boot.
I once owned an entire collection of Beefheart albums on vinyl which I loaned to my friend Gary, who took it down to the Florida Keys, where he lost all of the albums moving around from place to place. I still get pains whenever I think about what a stupid thing I did.
"Gary must have been a close buddy. You still seeing him?"
Actually yes. I have seen him a number of times since he "lost" my Beefheart collection. As much as I love the Captain, the albums aren't worth a friendship. Me and Gary still share our love of DVV's music ... just, not those albums.
I agree. Jimmy wants to have it both ways - he loves talking shit about Zappa and how Zappa allegedly mistreated him, but he's always performing it whatever Zappa tribute band will have him. Pretty lame, if you ask me.

Then his ashtray fever went away showing his canvas extra terrestrial remedy no

Although Frank Zappa hired Captain Beefheart out of charity, Bongo Fury is some of their best work
